Composite veneers give a luxurious smile

Beautiful, smooth and snow-white teeth - what could be more attractive? No wonder actors, politicians and people of public professions often use the services of a dentist to create an ideal smile. But I do not want to spoil my teeth, either by installing crowns. Therefore, a new method of correction of the dentition series was developed and introduced, using veneers. For most people this is a new kind of prosthetics. What are the veneers and what is their special feature? This is a modern method of correction of the dentition in order to improve the shape, color and type of teeth. The veneer itself is a thin, almost transparent plate.

There are several types of veneers. The difference between them depends on the materials of which they are made: ceramic, composite and porcelain. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages. The most easy to make composite veneers. Like others, they are able to correct and eliminate aesthetic defects in the front teeth, but the time spent visiting the clinic is limited to one day.

Composite veneers are produced from the filling material directly in the patient's mouth. The doctor treats the tooth surface with a special acid-containing gel, and then the composite material itself layer by layer. Each application is fixed with a photopolymer lamp. At the end of the procedure, the tooth is polished. To create ceramic and porcelain plates, a dental laboratory is required and a longer time for their manufacture. In addition, the processing of the tooth surface for composite veneers is minimized. Only the part that requires correction is grinded.

Indications for the installation of veneers are:

- gaps between teeth;

- chipped;

- the presence of darkened or significantly changed their color of old fillings;

- discoloration of the tooth itself, possibly due to fluorosis;

- tetracycline teeth , etc.

The aesthetic and mechanical properties of composite veneers directly depend on the composition, or rather, on the particle size of the material itself. Stronger plates, which include composite particles of more than 30 microns, do not lend themselves to polishing and quickly fade. The pads with the size of microparticles of 0.04 microns have excellent aesthetic properties, are perfectly polished, but they are rather fragile, more often used for tooth filling. As usual, preference is given to the golden middle, namely materials with filler up to 0.15 microns. These veneers are strong enough, they are easy to grind and look like a natural tooth.

And yet not everyone can put the veneers. Contraindications are untreated periodontitis, incorrect bite, thinning or small amount of enamel, the habit of gnashing teeth (bruxism).

Nevertheless, composite veneers are very popular among patients. Of their advantages over ceramic and porcelain should be allocated a fairly democratic price (cheaper than analogs more than twice) and the speed of installation (work is carried out for one visit to the dentist). A wide range of colors can satisfy any esthete. With proper care, veneers are served with faith and truth for many years.
