Color "quartz": a banal routine or practical minimalism?

For some car owners, the color of the car does not matter, for others it's the decisive one. Most buyers believe that color is not the most important, but they are trying to choose a more practical option, and that the model looked good.

In principle, all the shades in which the car is painted can be divided into light, dark, gray and bright. But the most interesting thing is if you choose a color by name. Some manufacturers write them traditionally: "gray", "black", etc. And there are also those who assign each of the shades a proper name: "blue night", "rhapsody" or "gold of the Incas". So the buyer sometimes finds it very difficult to imagine how the "quartz" color will look, for example.

Of course, choosing a car, it is desirable to see it "live", but, unfortunately, this option does not always exist, so the client has to connect his imagination. Especially a violent fantasy in this direction at avtoVAZ, they are selling "pearls", "nifertiti" and "fraconium". If we consider the color "quartz", then inherently it is dark gray and almost all manufacturers use it, but they only name it in different ways. The buyer can, of course, advise to get acquainted with the catalog to make a choice, but he can give only an approximate idea of how the shade will look on the metal.

As for the gray variations, such as quartz, this color seems to many to be banal and boring, but there are also its fans. They argue their choice mostly practical - cars are less dirty (and dirt on them, in fact, not noticeable), are less obvious (including law enforcement and envious neighbors).

On the other hand, if the car is not noticeable on the road, then it is dangerous to drive it. According to statistics, in cars, the colors of "asphalt" fall much more often than bright or bright, especially in the evening, when the lighting is not yet turned on, but it is already dusk. A bright car is difficult not to notice on the road in any weather and around the clock. Light can be invisible only in winter, when there is a lot of snow, but if the car has a color "quartz", it is difficult to see even on dry asphalt on a sunny day.

Psychologists have their own theory on this issue. First, they argue that gray and its hues are preferred by people who are calm and balanced, but at the same time too pragmatic and somewhat boring. Pedestrians and other participants of the movement, the color "quartz" and the rest, from the same series, even if they see with their eyes, the brain does not perceive either moving objects, either as cars or as a potential danger.

As practice shows, advising a person which car to choose and how he should look is completely useless, especially if he is confident in himself, practical and pragmatic. But still it is necessary to think about security, choosing the color of the car ("quartz" in this case is far from the best option).

If the purchase is already made (or the choice is unambiguous), then at least it is necessary to anticipate the reaction of others. Moving on a gray car, it is better to stand out in addition on the road, including, for example, the dimensions, and at the first twilight you should use the dipped headlamps, without waiting for them to turn on all the participants of the traffic.
