Chlamydia in the blood: is it scary?

Chlamydia in the blood are special bacteria of a pathogenic nature that feel great in the human circulatory system and lead to many diseases. Chlamydia is considered the most common disease that is transmitted due to unprotected intercourse between partners. According to statistics, about 15% of people living with sexual activity are infected.

Depending on the type of bacteria, there may be diseases of the genitourinary system or lymphatic granuloma. The risk group includes both men and women, although the latter are more likely to transmit chlamydia. And the spread of the infection by blood may not be accompanied by symptoms, but occurs in a latent form and for a fairly long time.

Ways of infection with chlamydia:

There are two ways of transmission of infection: domestic and, as already noted, sexually. If the latter method is found everywhere, then through household items it is extremely difficult to get infected. This is due to the fact that chlamydia in the blood are fine, but when they get into the usual environment they quickly die. But at a temperature of 19 degrees there is, albeit insignificant, but the probability of transmission of bacteria, for example, through the seat of a toilet or a public pool, as well as dirty dishes.

In women, the process of transmission occurs after sexual intercourse with an infected man. When ingested on the mucous membrane of the uterus, chlamydia are considered dangerous, but do not start to multiply. After about 5 hours, the bacterium is transformed into a reticular body and begins to actively divide. Another 6 hours is spent on its active reproduction, then a huge amount of bacteria appears, which by the power to infect all surrounding cells. Completely the process of infection takes a maximum of 72 hours. In this case, there is the appearance of secretions and pains in the lower abdomen. But often chlamydia in the blood of women seem to be frozen and take a wait and see attitude. As soon as the immune system becomes slightly weaker, the process of infection will begin.

In men, bacteria develop and reproduce in a similar scenario. But in connection with the peculiarity of the anatomical structure, infection is accompanied by a pronounced symptomatology. And this is not surprising, because in the male part of the population, active reproduction of bacteria leads to violations of the urethra, and in women, first of all, the uterus is affected. Therefore, the patient experiences itching sensations in the genital area, there are discharge, sometimes pain. The consequences of infection with chlamydia in men is the occurrence of urethritis.

To children, bacteria can be transmitted in the womb together with the amniotic fluid, as well as during the birth process. As a rule, when infecting amniotic fluid a certain threshold appears, which can provoke miscarriage. During childbirth, the bacteria get into the mucous membrane of the baby, which results in infection, usually the eye. This is very dangerous, since it can lead to complete blindness of the baby.

When you have the first symptoms or suspicions, you should take a blood test for chlamydia. But it is worth remembering that it is not reliable enough and can show the correct result not earlier than on the 10th day of infection. Also very convenient is a mini-test, which allows you to get the result at home. You can buy it at any pharmacy, and it is on sale. But the probability of a proper diagnosis with such a test is very low and is only 20%. Chlamydia in the blood can be determined by scraping the cells of the affected mucosa, a smear gives a full basis for the initiation of treatment.

Treatment is complex and lasts no more than a month. Preference is given to those drugs that can penetrate directly into the cells. After the end of the treatment cycle, the patient must undergo mandatory examinations for another two months.
