The family of legumes gave man a huge number of useful plants. Some of them are used for food (beans, beans, peas), others are excellent melliferous (acacia, clover), others delight the eye with their decorative appearance. The flowers are collected in loose brushes, the large corolla is colored in a bright purple-red color. Fruits - beans up to 4 cm long, oblong-linear, not pubescent.

Chemical composition and properties

The chemical composition of the plant is not fully understood. It is known that the aerial part contains carotene, vitamin C (with a little more in leaves than in flowers), alkaloids, flavonoids, organic acids.

It has been clinically proven that the tuberosine rank has good expectorant properties. However, in traditional medicine it is not used, only in folk methods of treatment. The aerial part of the plant is used. The time of collection depends on what exactly you want to receive. So, flowers, stems and leaves - July-August, and roots - September-October. The grass is dried in a cool place, without getting sunlight, stored in bags of cloth or paper.

Chin tuberinas active is widely used in folk medicine in Western Siberia, the Volga region and the Caucasus. Strictly speaking, in those places where it grows in large quantities. Infusion of herbs is used as an effective soothing expectorant for bronchitis, inflammation, abscess and pulmonary tuberculosis. It is also known for its use in heart diseases.

In addition to the aboveground part of the plant, tubers are also collected for medicinal purposes. Their decoction is used in colitis, diarrhea, dysentery, in other words, with violations in the digestive system, intestinal neuroses, belching and spasms.

In the Altai, the plant has long been known as a remedy for headaches, helminthiases and the so-called "fag", that is, child birth injuries.

Use in food

As has already been said, in some countries, as a food plant, along with other legumes, a club-breeding rank is grown. The root system of the plant forms edible tubers of medium size, reaching in diameter from 3 to 8 cm, harvesting in autumn. Tubers are rich in starch and sugars. Used in raw form (reminiscent of the taste of radish), cooked and fried. Many compare their taste with chestnuts. In the course are also young leaves of the plant, from which you can prepare a salad. In Germany, the plant is known as pork bread, ground almonds or walnut.

Cultivation in the garden

Proof of the fact that the rank of tuberinaceous is a universal plant, is another side of its use - in the garden. Weed, medicinal herb and tuber plant can become an ornament of the territory. Chin possesses a beautiful shade characteristic for all bean moths. Effective whips can be used for vertical gardening, because in height they reach 1.2 m, or as a background for tree species. In addition to aesthetic beauty, you will also enrich the soil with nitrogen. With all this, care of the order is required minimal. Enough regular watering and support, for which it will cling to the antennae. And if you look at the photo, you will probably be surprised at how the rank looks harmoniously in the summer bouquets.
