Children's portfolio: specifics of compilation

The term "portfolio" recently broke into our life, bringing a headache first to adults, in particular teachers, and then to a large destitute population of all ages. And now almost every modern preschool child collects his first children's portfolio.

For children whose parents already know this newfangled word, this kind of collecting their achievements turns into fascinating fun. The same parents who hardly know what they are talking about, a number of questions arise, because the portfolio in various spheres of life has its content, depending on the purposes of its creation. So, for example, in the modeling business - it is a combination of successful photographs, the teachers - the effectiveness of work and achievements, but the children's portfolio , especially when it comes to modern preschool - it's more like a colorful book with interesting pictures.

On the Internet there is a wide variety of portfolio design patterns - these are various interesting templates created with the help of graphic editors, and recommendations for compiling with content requirements. Nevertheless, there is no clear and clearly formulated rule about which sections should include the children's portfolio. For example, if we are talking about the achievements of a preschooler, it would be appropriate to include the following sections in it:

- General information about the child. In addition to the surname, name, patronymic and home address, this section contains a picture of the child.

- Hobbies. Here it is a question of a child's hobby, about which sports section or creative circle he is engaged in, what he likes best to do.

- Achievements, awards. Here are the letters, diplomas, gratitude, arranged in chronological order.

- Friends. In the children's portfolio of the preschooler, it is appropriate to add photos of friends, holidays and entertainment with peers, photos taken during the morning performances.

It is possible to add other sections to provide more information. As practice shows, these items are most often included by parents in the portfolio. Kindergarten, or rather, educators and narrow specialists, usually add to the daddy with the achievements of the child his creative work, success in joint educational activities and feedback about the pupil.

Portfolio design is an exciting joint activity for parents and their children. The child can take a direct part in this creative process: he will pick up photos, beautiful templates, help to make the author's cover (for example, using the techniques of scrapbooking or decoupage).

Unlike the preschooler's portfolio, the creation and design of which falls mainly on the shoulders of the child's parents, collecting the portfolio of the kindergarten group is the care of the teachers. Thanks to this kind of presentation, teachers can easily demonstrate the effectiveness of their work, familiarize parents with the developing environment of the group, as well as with the programs used in the work.
