The history of the necropolis

The cemetery of Lublin was founded in 1635. It got its name from the nearest estate and the village of Lublin (from the 18th century, earlier - Godunovo). Originally it was a typical rural churchyard, where the peasants were buried. Since the beginning of the XVIII century in Lublino began to build summer residences and giving wealthy and noble families. Over time, the borders of Moscow also changed, and very soon people from the nearest residential neighborhoods were buried in the Lublin cemetery. Since 1939, the official archive of graves has been kept, in 1960 the necropolis was included in the list of Moscow, and a little later it was closed and was given the status of a memorial.

To organize such a funeral it is necessary to collect all the necessary documents and to confirm the relationship with the person whose grave is already in the necropolis. Burials are held today in two ways: a coffin with a body or an urn with ashes to the ground. Cemetery Lyublinskoe is being improved today.
