Caution, infection! How does the mites vaccinate us?

Vaccinations are the protectors of our body. They protect us from serious and dangerous diseases. The vaccination of a person occurs by injection of the vaccine. Long ago, when there were no vaccines, our ancestors could easily fall ill with some rubbish such as measles, diphtheria, tuberculosis or tick-borne encephalitis.

All people begin to get vaccinated at an early age. After a while they are repeated, thereby strengthening immunity. This is done in connection with the fact that the immunity caused by vaccination is not sufficiently stable. We will understand in more detail what a vaccine is.

In general, the vaccine is a medical "elixir of life", consisting of killed or living weakened microbes. The meaning of these half-dead bacteria is that after entering the vaccine in our body there is a kind of "dramatization" of infection by an infection. The organism rehearses the scenario of the disease. This is as follows. Weakened microbes, getting into the blood, provoke it to produce special fighters with the infection. Their name is antibodies. The result of this confrontation is known: antibodies defeat weakened microbes. Do not be afraid, no one ever gets sick from such vaccinations. But, for example, a triple inoculation against ticks prepares our body for a meeting with strong pathogenic viruses, for example encephalitis, providing it with acquired immunity. Our enemies

Few of us feel sympathy for this group of arachnids, except entomologists. Mites are our enemies. They exist on the Earth exactly as much as there is a man himself! The most common of these parasites are ixodid mites that feed on the blood of animals and humans. What does the expression "pick up a tick" mean, and what are these creatures dangerous? About everything in order.

Imagine you have picked up a mite somewhere. If you do not notice it immediately, then it will hang on you and suck blood for about a day. In this case, the tick will increase in volume and become 200 times larger than itself, becoming like a large pea. As soon as there is no room for an extra part of your blood, it will disappear. Never try to tear off the sucking mite, since its head or proboscis can remain under your skin, which can cause inflammation, which is more dangerous than the bite itself. A good way to force a parasite to fall is to press a vial or cotton wool with alcohol or, for example, cologne. In this case, he will disappear himself. If nevertheless there was a detachment of the head or proboscis of the tick, treat this "black spot" with iodine 5%, leaving it to self-excretion.

Caution, infection!

By themselves, tick bites are "berries" in comparison with the dangerous infectious diseases they carry, one of which is tick-borne encephalitis. It is an acute viral infection affecting the central nervous system of a person. Here already or pan, or disappeared: from recovery to disability and death .

Our savior - vaccination against ticks

Russia is the leader in the number of cases of infection with tick-borne encephalitis. Infected parasites are common in the Far East, South Siberia, the Urals, the Central and North-Western regions, so here the vaccination against ticks is a painful habit.

To date, there are several domestic and a couple of imported vaccines against tick-borne encephalitis, intended for adults and children. In addition, vaccinations can be preventive in nature. Individuals of certain professions who are forced to work in the zone of high risk of ticks are vaccinated - students, counselors, tourists, etc.

Note that the vaccination against ticks is done three times: after the second vaccination, immunity is produced, and the third is needed for its final fixing. Do not be ill!
