Cartridge, 12 gauge: how to decide on the appropriate option?

The key to successful hunting is a well-aimed shot, and for its execution it is always necessary to have a suitable cartridge at hand. To ensure the convenience of tracking down production, it is necessary to have reliable cartridge-holders for hunting.

In no case should you underestimate this element of equipment. Hunting ammunition is available for every experienced miner. Whatever it was, do without it is quite difficult.

Appointment

Sometimes, to achieve the result, it is enough to put a few bullets in your pocket. However, this approach is more often used by persons whose main goal is first of all a good rest in the bosom of nature.

It is always important for a successful breadwinner to have a cartridge belt (12 caliber), shells for smaller and larger game. You never know what kind of animal can meet in the forest. This approach to training equipment allows you to be ready to "battle" with a large, aggressive beast.

Types

Due to the wide availability of all kinds of materials, you can try to make a self-made cartridge. However, it is much more convenient to view ready-made, factory models. The latter are distinguished by a variety of designs, transportation methods, sizes and options for securing cartridges of various calibers.

According to the type of carrying, shoulder, chest and belt belts are selected. By the number of rows are distinguished:

  1. Single-row products - are presented in the form of a wide belt, which contains cells for cartridges of various types and sizes.
  2. Double-row devices have longitudinal stripes for the arrangement of shells in several rows. There are both shoulder and waist.

It is also worth noting an open and closed cartridge belt (12 gauge). The first option is the most available on the market. However, there is one significant disadvantage - insufficiently reliable protection of ammunition in atmospheric precipitation. Given the special simplicity of the design, if desired, you can make such a cartridge-belt with your own hands.

As for the equipment of the closed type, the latter is more advantageous solution, because it allows the cartridges to be more safely held in the grooves and contains a shell with latches that cover the ammunition.

Vest

A fairly common product for the transportation of cartridges. Someone likes ready-made, stylish models. Others prefer the purchase of an ordinary vest, independently sewing cells for ammunition.

Buying a cartridge belt (12 gauge) in the form of a vest, you can get not only reliable equipment, but also to provide yourself protection from bad weather. The presence of a whole mass of extra pockets promotes the comfortable wearing of other hunting accessories.

Belt

A very common choice is the waist bandolier (12 gauge). A familiar with this option is every inveterate hunter. The belt for ammunition storage is a wide belt, along the perimeter of which there are cells of various sizes.

Most of the products in this category can accommodate 20 to 30 cartridges. There are single-row and two-row models, designs with additional fastenings for a knife, a flask and various small accessories.

However, some hunters are rather skeptical about this decision, because during operation, the belt is often hidden from the rain under the clothes, which causes some discomfort.

Cartridge on the butt

Recently, it is one of the most popular on the market. Many hunters like this decision, because it is suitable for carrying ammunition of various calibers, it is conveniently fixed on certain types of butts and is made of a variety of materials.

Most models contain an extremely limited number of cartridges. However, such a shortcoming is overlapped by an accelerated recharging process.

Picking up the cartridge belt on the butt, experts recommend giving preference to rubberized or synthetic products that are not afraid of regular contact with moisture.

This option is ideal for transportation of ammunition on the butt of a smoothbore weapon. Free access to the cartridge belt provides a timely shot, and reliable fixation does not allow the cartridges to drop out in the most serious shaking.

Finally

How to decide on the right equipment? The choice dictates primarily hunting conditions. In the case of long-term tracking of prey from ambush, preference should be given to open-ended belt-keepers. A good solution for many kilometers of marches will be closed equipment.

Another important factor that affects the final choice is the correlation between price, personal goals and preferences. A reliable, high-quality thing has an appropriate value. Therefore, it is not recommended to economize on the details of the equipment, on which the result of hunting directly depends.
