Tablets "Riboxin" - is an antihypoxic and antiarrhythmic anabolic agent. As a precursor of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the drug is involved in the exchange of glucose. In conditions of hypoxia and when there is no ATP drug "Riboxin" produces an activating effect on the metabolism of pyruvic acid, thereby providing a normal process of tissue respiration. Also, the drug positively affects the activation of xanthine dehydrogenase.

What else tells us about the medication "Riboxin" instructions for use? Tablets of this drug promote the metabolism in the myocardium. This increases the cellular energy balance, stimulates the synthesis of nucleotides, increases the activity of certain enzymes. Tablets "Riboxin" allow to normalize the myocardium, contributing to its contractile activity, more complete relaxation of the cardiac muscle layer in the diastole.

This is due to the ability of the drug to bind calcium ions, which penetrate into the excited cells. Tablets "Riboxin" promote active regeneration of tissues. In particular, this action of the drug is directed to the myocardium and the mucous membrane of the digestive tract.

With regard to the use of the drug "Riboxin" (tablets), the instruction concretizes this issue, indicating the treatment of the following pathologies:

  • Heart ischemia (IHD), post-infarction condition, angina pectoris. In these cases, the drug is used in complex therapy.
  • Intoxication with cardiac glycosides.
  • The different genesis of cardiomyopathy.
  • Myocarditis.
  • Violation of the heart rate.

Also, the complex treats various heart defects, coronary atherosclerosis, myocarditis and other cardiac pathologies. In addition, the medication "Riboxin" (pills) is a tool that improves visual function. These properties of the drug contribute to its use in a pathology such as open-angle glaucoma.

The tablets "Riboxin" are applied as follows: the daily dose for prescription to older children and adult patients is 0.6-2.4 grams. The first two days a medicine is taken three, four times a day for one tablet. Beginning with the third day of intake with good drug tolerance, the dosage increases to 1.2 - 1.4 grams per day. The duration of therapy is from 28 days to three months. Tablets are taken before meals.

Usually this drug is well tolerated. Individual intolerance may occur if the recommended dosage is exceeded. It is expressed in hyperemia, the appearance of itching. In the event of such phenomena, the drug is canceled. Also, rare cases were noted when the level of urea increased during treatment with the drug in the blood, and rarely the exacerbation of gout with prolonged treatment with this drug was observed.

Contraindications for use are the above-mentioned pathologies. Namely: gout, as well as increased sensitivity to the active substance. In addition, the drug is contraindicated in hyperuricemia, limited in admission with renal failure.

As for the last clarification, in case of renal insufficiency in a patient, taking Riboxin is due to the doctor's certainty that such a need is justified. Emergency correction of cardiac disorders with the help of this drug is not carried out.

If the drug "Riboxin" (tablets) is used simultaneously with blockers of β-adrenoreceptors, its effect is not reduced. Joint use with cardiac glycosides helps to prevent arrhythmia and intensify inotropic action.
