Blockbuster "Everest". Film description

A realistic blockbuster about the misadventure of climbers "Everest" (the description of the plot will be presented in this publication), directed by Baltasar Kormakur, will tell the viewer a tragic story with elements in the primary role and Hollywood stars in the roles of the second plan.

History of the ascent

A brief description of the film "Everest" is impossible without spoilers, however, who knows the real story, the canvas of the picture of secrets will not open. The scenario story was based on the events of the first in the history of mountaineering, the commercial conquest of the mountain peak in several groups, undertaken in 1996. Causes

The film "Everest", the description of which is imbued with real drama, is not the only film adaptation of the tragedy that has happened. In 1997, the book survived Kraukera was filmed in the title role with Christopher McDonald, in 2007, the same events were filmed a documentary tape. And in 2015, the Icelander Baltazar Cormacour, known to the viewer for the "Two Barrels" fighter and other brisk films, took up his interpretation of the tragedy that occurred at the peak of Mount Everest. Description of the film - a smart new version of the game - includes the story melodramatic branches: a story with the pregnant wife of one of the participants, problems in the family of another and the moral state of the third, feeling free only at an unnamed height.

Plot

The events unfold in the early spring of 1996, during this period several groups began to plan the conquest of the summit of Mount Everest. The description of the film introduces the audience to the head of the first group - Rob Hall (Jason Clarke), a good-natured native of New Zealand, and his pregnant wife, Kira Knightley, waiting for her husband to return home.

The Hollon group is rather diverse: John Krauker (Michael Kelly), the journalist Outside, the rank-and-file postman (John Hawks), the impudent Texas cowboy (Josh Brolin) and the former mountaineer from Japan (Naoko Mori), who managed to visit all six tops of the mountains The last seventh, the most dangerous in the mountain system of Mount Everest.

The description of the central characters will continue to acquaintance with the second group, headed by Scott Fisher (actor Jake Gyllenhaal) - a stony hamovatym climber, abusing whiskey. On the fateful day, May 11, after preliminary training, lovers of the thrill began their journey, rising to the southern slope of Mount Everest. Both commercial groups triumphantly completed the ascent and triumphantly descended from the summit, but then a violent storm broke out, as a result of which almost all adventurers died.

Minimalistic dramaturgy

To work on the film adaptation of the literary source, first-rate screenwriters - William Nicholson (Gladiator) and Oscar-winner Simon Bofoy (Slumdog Millionaire), as well as a strong cast of actors were brought in. It was they who, under the strict guidance of director Kormakura, were supposed to convey to the viewer the truth about the sad ascent to Everest. The description of the film poorly reveals the characteristics of the characters, however, they are quite stereotyped, and their relationships are almost conflict-free, although the real events that formed the basis for the picture provided more significant opportunities in this direction. But thanks to this author's minimalist drama, the blockbuster manages to maintain its dignity and appear before the viewer not as a passing film-catastrophe, but as an interesting narrative about the strength of spirit and despair. In the movie there is nothing superfluous - only a hopeless storm, exceptionally necessary dialogues, dizzying beautiful views of clefts and a grandiose image of Mount Everest. It is the mountain range that is the main protagonist, to which the travelers challenge, but in the final result they still lose. But in the demonstration of this fatal battle blockbuster "Everest" entertainment does not take.
