Auto without documents - stolen or not?
On various sites of announcements and in mass media very often it is possible to see the announcement «selling the car without documents». An attractive moment in such proposals is the price of the machine, which is an order of magnitude lower than that of similar units with a complete set. What should be read in the subtext of such ads, and what is fraught with buying a car without documents?
The first thought that appears in a respectable citizen at the sight of such a proposal is a stolen car. However, most often this is not so. As a rule, stolen cars are not sold in this way - too dangerous. These machines have their own, proven and intricate sales channels. Then where on the market without a document?
Very often a situation occurs when there are problems with the "customs clearance" of the imported car. In such cases, law enforcement authorities have the right to seize documents until the facts of the case are clarified. A "case" can be different - from problems with the registration of documents at the customs until the discovery of illegally broken rooms. Therefore, it is impossible to officially sell such a car without documents. Of course, it is possible to restore the necessary documentation, but only if the current owner turns and because of long legal proceedings.
Another case of the appearance on the market of a car without documents is their elementary loss. Of course, this is a very rare case, most often it is a deliberate "maneuver" of the master himself. Apparently, there was an opportunity to buy a car of the same brand, but later year of release and better technical condition. And some time ago it was practiced this way - under the guise of "aggregates" for a car through customs, a completely dismantled car was transported, which later was collected and sold for the same documents that were allegedly "lost". From a legal point of view, the imported machine is absolutely clean. But the old one remained without documents and it's legally impossible to sell it, well, except for spare parts. The method, of course, has been known for a long time, and nevertheless - when buying cars without documents for spare parts, be cautious, as some stolen cars are also dismantled for spare parts, and there is a probability of being among the suspects if the car is on the wanted list.
In general, a car without documents is not necessarily a criminal option, it may be just the wrong design of them at best or a practically new car assembled by folk craftsmen in an underground SRT, with documents obtained through some fraud. Experts argue that none of these options are better not to use, overpay the right amount and get a normal, legalized car!
