Law enforcement authorities

The state, with the help of its bodies, constantly regulates all kinds of aspects of public life. In particular, we are talking about foreign and domestic policy, economy, science, culture, health, social welfare and so on.

What are law enforcement bodies?

The protection of freedoms, as well as all kinds of human rights, is one of the most significant tasks of the state and its bodies. This is stated in the Constitution of the Russian Federation. In addition to this protection, their priority tasks include maintenance of law and order, combating crime, delinquency, protecting the interests of enterprises and organizations.

To some extent all this is done by public organizations, municipal and state bodies, but there are special bodies whose activities are directly related to the protection of law. They are called law enforcement. Their activities, as a rule, are specific, and the powers are very broad. Law enforcement agencies of foreign countries and Russia can differ from each other. The fact is that there are still quite a lot of controversy as to which specific units to relate to them.

The activities conducted by law enforcement agencies are called law enforcement. It refers to the activities carried out by specially authorized bodies whose main functions are to suppress, as well as the prevention of all offenses, the punishment of the perpetrators, and the restoration of the rights of the victims.

The law enforcement bodies of Russia carry out their activities for the following purposes:

- protection of the state and sovereignty, constitutional order;

- protection, freedoms, rights, as well as personalities;

- Protection of society, as well as all its values.

Law enforcement agencies are now implementing:

- justice. It refers to the activities carried out exclusively by the courts to resolve and consider all sorts of criminal and civil cases, and make certain justified decisions on them, which are based on the law. Justice is exercised by arbitration courts, justices of the peace, courts of general jurisdiction. Besides them, no one else has the right to do this;

- constitutional control. This control is exercised by the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. He checks compliance of laws with those norms that are set out in the main law of our country. In addition to the laws, this law enforcement agency verifies the NAP of state bodies, the legality of actions of senior officials;

- organizational support of judicial activity. Law enforcement authorities may be responsible for the normal functioning of the judiciary. As a rule, they have great powers in their field of activity;

- Public prosecutor's supervision. This term refers to the activities carried out by the prosecutor's office. It is connected with prevention, as well as suppression of violations of the law. It is produced with the help of measures of the prosecutor's reaction ;

- identification, as well as investigation of the crime. This activity is conducted by law enforcement agencies of preliminary investigation or bodies of inquiry. It is directed at the disclosure of crimes, the search for perpetrators, for direct involvement of them to criminal responsibility;

- legal assistance. This is the responsibility of the notary, as well as the bar.

Law enforcement agencies are different. At first glance, it seems that everything is clear, but often there is much debate about them. Some authoritative people argue that the courts should not enter the law enforcement bodies. This opinion has many supporters, but the courts still remain on this list, as their activities have a compulsory effect.
