BMW 530i - one of the variations of the body of the BMW E39, which was produced since 1995. It was based on E34 and was produced until 2003, after which it was replaced by the next model - the E60 with a radically new design. The body type of the car is a sedan.

In 1995, the BMW 530i was first introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car was significantly different from the previous generation - it acquired a more angular body shape, and the radiator grille, on the contrary, became rounded. Suspension

The chassis of the BMW 530i was almost entirely made up of aluminum. The exception was a number of models, equipped with a motor V8, which was installed cast-iron suspension. Aluminum allowed to increase the controllability of the car, while reducing its weight.

Thus, unsprung weight of the suspension has decreased by thirty-six percent, and it has become much more comfortable. In addition, improving the quality of driving contributed to the change in the rear, the design of which provided a "thrust" action of the rear wheels. The battery was moved to the luggage compartment, which made the weight distribution of the car more efficient.

Engine

All modifications had different engines. The BMW 530i, for example, installed a six-cylinder engine, the power of which is 231 horsepower, and the torque - 300 Nm.

History of changes

  • 1997 year. The Touring wagon began to be produced, a little longer and heavier than the original model, but at the same time retaining all of its driving qualities. The engines were installed the same, and in the standard equipment were added two airbags.
  • 1998 year. The beginning of the serial production of M5. He was put on a forced five-liter engine, equipped with a Double-VANOS system, as well as eight throttle valves. Its capacity (for the first time in the history of the company) reached four hundred horsepower.
  • 1999 year. There were several changes that affected the engines of the BMW 530i. In the six-cylinder engines there was a control system for two camshafts, and eight-cylinder steel was equipped with two-stage catalytic converters of exhaust gases, with which the Euro-4 standard was achieved. In the same year E39 first appeared on Russian roads, collected in the Kaliningrad region. At the same time, they cost about ten thousand dollars less than their German counterparts.
  • year 2000. The release of the model 520d, which included a two-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with a direct injection system with a power equal to one hundred and thirty-six horsepower, and a dynamics of 0-100 - 10.9 seconds.

In the same two thousandth year, a small modification of the appearance of the model was made. Now the dimensions of the headlights were rounded in the form of "angel eyes," and the turning indicators of the rear lights became transparent. In addition, the rear position lamps received LED lamps. The design of the radiator grating has also changed a little - it has become more voluminous. Among other changes, we can note the new appearance of the bumper and front fog lamps.
