Liana Stark - a character with a tragic fate

Today, fantasy is a very popular genre of literature, cinematography and computer games. Everyone likes him for his own reasons. A series of books (as well as a series based on their motives) "The Game of Thrones" can be safely attributed to the outstanding examples of this genre. This is a severe and cruel, but at the same time a good and hopeful work, which, by its elaboration, can compete with such titans of the genre as "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Forgotten Realms." This article will tell you about one of the key characters in the universe, even though it does not appear in books and the series and it is possible to form an opinion on it only from the memoirs of other heroes. This is Liana Stark - a girl who decided the fate of the Seven Kingdoms, not wanting that.

Prehistory

Events "Games of Thrones" unfold in the fictional world of Vasteras. The largest state on its territory is the so-called Seven Kingdoms. The circumstances are such that among the ruling elite there are large families, or Houses. They interact, weave intrigues against each other in their attempts to occupy the Iron Throne and royal power with him. Each House has its own coat of arms, motto, personal qualities. The main houses in Västerås are seven - the Stark house, the Lannister house, the Targarien house, the Barateon house, the Tyrell house, the Greigge house and the Martell house. During the life of Liane Stark, the Family of the Kingdoms was ruled for many years by the house of Targarien. The king was Eyeris the Mad, and his heir was Crown Prince Reygard.

Life and destiny of Liane Stark

Liana was the daughter of the head of the Stark house - Ricarda. She had three brothers - Brandon, Bendzhen and Eddard (the latter is one of the key characters of books and series). Even in her early childhood she possessed incredible beauty. Among its other qualities can be called sensitivity, the notion of honor and justice, determination, courage and compassion. Liana's father, having such an enviable bride, decided to give her to marry Robert Baratheon (who was a close friend of Eddard). Before that time, the girl grew up in the family castle Starkov - Winterfell.

At the age of sixteen, the father took her and his other children to the royal tournament in Harrenhall. Among the many fighters who fought there, was Prince Reyegar. When he won, in front of everyone he announced to his queen of love and beauty exactly Liana (in spite of the fact that he was already engaged to Princess Elia Martell).

After the tournament came to an end, Liana mysteriously disappeared. Later it was said that she was kidnapped by the prince and taken to the Tower of Joy - a small castle on the border of the Seven Kingdoms with another state, Dorn. However, there are versions that say that Liana left with him voluntarily, as her betrothed Robert had a steep temper and was a scandal for women.

The beginning of the Civil War

Learning about this act of the prince, Robert was furious. Soon he began an uprising, which grew into a civil war. Initially, it was unstable, but when several houses joined the insurgents, those who were dissatisfied with the power of the Targarienes, they became a serious threat to the throne. The decisive battle took place on the Ruby ford. In this battle, the king's army was defeated, and his commander - Prince Reyegar, who hastily left for the capital, after learning of the beginning of the uprising, perished.

Liana spent all this time in the tower. When Edward (and he also joined the rebels) with loyal people came to the Tower of Joy, he found a sister dying in a bloody bed. Before she died, she took a vow. Which exactly - and remained unknown. Subsequently, among the fans of the series there were several theories about this.

Liana Stark was buried in the family crypt Winterfell.

Further developments

Subsequently, Robert's troops besieged the Royal Harbor - the capital. King Eyeris was killed by his own guard. Robert became the new king and married Cersei Lannister. However, he remembered Liana all his life as the woman of his dreams. Eddard spoke warmly of her, and, apparently, kept his word given to her before his death.

Theories

The fans of the universe have created a theory according to which Eddard's illegitimate son, John Snow, is the son of Liane and Reyegar. Allegedly, Liana asked her brother to take her son to education, while ignoring its origin. Eddard did not answer anything even on his questions about his mother. So this theory may well turn out to be true.

Since the creators of the series do not give any images that could convey, as Liana Stark looked like (the photo of the actress is also absent), she presents it in different ways. It is possible that John is like her, because he has no signs of Targarien (character, blond hair).
