Ambiguously - it's like? Definition of concept
What does "ambiguity" mean? When is the term used? What happens is ambiguous? Let's try to understand these questions in this article.
How to understand the term "ambiguity"
Ambiguously is the definition of attitude to a situation in which any concept can be given several interpretations. The term in this case means any information, data, attitude, event, etc. Synonyms "ambiguously" are such words: controversial, vague, unclear, obscure. Several interpretations of the same concept are misleading, without giving the possibility of determining how to still perceive a particular phenomenon.
Ambiguity with respect to
In this case, the attitude can be to anything: to information, to an event defined by a person, a group of persons, etc. Ambiguous attitude is when it is impossible to determine 100%, how to perceive something or someone - positively or negatively. For example, to a decent, decent person who engages in a useful for society activity attitude, definitely, positive. To a person who committed a series of serious crimes, morally degrading attitude, unequivocally, negative. However, this is not always the case. Sometimes a person is difficult to attribute to a certain category. In it there are both clearly positive and obviously negative features. Clearly, everyone has shortcomings, and minor flaws can not cause serious fluctuations. But it also happens that a person commits something definitely useful to others, being, for example, a talented surgeon, he saves human lives. However, in doing so, he can commit any unlawful actions, causing serious damage to other people. In this case, we will, most likely, be ambiguous about treating this person. This applies not only to people. Attitudes toward events, for example, can also be controversial. When, on the one hand, they are of some use, and on the other, they cause considerable damage.
Ambiguous time
This term denotes the time in which a person is difficult to navigate, as there is a shift in vital accents and a change in values. In the post-war period, for example, people faced clear tasks - working, raising the economy, setting up production, etc. The virtuous qualities were valued: family, decency, chastity, persistence in work. In the modern world, absolutely different values are put on the forefront. Now in the priority of material wealth, people tend to earn as much money as possible, sometimes dishonestly, and virtue is no longer in fashion.
Ambiguous opinion
There are times when opinion does not have a clear position. On the one hand, a person seems to support certain events, and on the other - understands: what happens is not entirely correct. In this case, we treat the event ambiguously. This is characterized by the inability to clearly determine the position on a particular issue. For example, many people have a dual attitude toward Soviet times.
Conclusion
Ambiguity in opinion, attitude and in other concepts arises in a person throughout his life. Doubt is typical of the human soul.
