Grow white mushrooms from late June to October, but if the summer is wet and warm, they can be met before. The folk calendar says that the first boletus is harvested when rye is planted. And when the linden bloomed - it's time for the second harvest of mushrooms.

White mushroom, like most other mushrooms, has many names: a boletus, a squirrel, an inhabitant, a white horse, a pechora, a cow-boy. The names do not reflect the beauty of this young fungus. Dense and strong, with a dry, roundish hat of the most varied colors - from ochristo-brown to brown-red - it seems to be intended only to be admired. You need to look for such white in a rare birch forest. At the end of July and the beginning of August, spruce whites crawl out of the earth. They are found in young plantings of fir-trees, but also in a mixed forest, where there are many birches and firs. Behind the spruce come pine white, darkhead - they are already growing until the end of the season, prefer the edges or clearings with a thin fern, overgrown with bushes and sparse pines.

So when do they harvest the ceps? The timing of the collection of various mushrooms is approximate. First of all, they depend on climatic conditions. Of course, warm and moderately rainy weather will allow mushrooms to appear earlier than average terms, and cold or too dry will delay the time of their collection.

Porcini. When to collect it

With morning dawn. Mushrooms are well collected in the early morning, until the dew has fallen, and before the sun heats them. Then the mushrooms are stored for a longer time. Heated by the sun, laid in a basket or a bucket with a thick layer, they begin to quickly deteriorate - they become wet and slippery, they produce an unpleasant smell. They are not suitable for processing.

It is not recommended to pull the mushroom out of the ground with the mycelium, we must gently cut it with a knife at the very base, leaving a part of the leg in the ground, so as not to damage the mycelium.

A few more tips on when to harvest ceps. Boroviki grow best in warm, steamy weather, the most suitable temperature for this is not less than 16 and not more than 25 degrees, when the soil is soaked with moisture. By the way, the first boletus, which pops up a couple of days after such a rain, are often wormy, and a real mushroom growth, strong and pleasing to the eye, will appear a little later.
