The drug "Afobazol" is available in the form of flat-cylindrical tablets of pure white or with a creamy tinge with a bevel. The drug is included in the group of anxiolytics (antitrafficking).

The medication has an anti-anxiety effect with an activating component, it does not cause hypnodised effects. Characterizing the drug "Afobazol", the abstract indicates the lack of muscle relaxant properties, a negative impact on the indicators of attention and memory. The use of the drug does not form a drug dependence, withdrawal syndrome does not develop.

The mechanism of the drug effect is mainly based on a combination of anti-anxious (anxiolytic) and activating (easily stimulating) properties.

How to take "Afobazol"

Tablets are for oral use. Take recommended after eating. The optimal one-time dosage is ten, the daily dosage is thirty milligrams, distributed over three days.

The duration of the course therapy is two to four weeks. If necessary, an increase in the daily dosage of twice (up to sixty milligrams), the duration of treatment - up to three months.

A significant overdose can trigger increased drowsiness and sedation without manifestation of muscle relaxation (muscle relaxation). As a first aid, a solution of 20% caffeine-benzoate sodium is administered subcutaneously, 1 ml two to three times a day.

The drug does not affect the hypnotic effect of thiopental and narcotic effect when taking ethanol, alcoholic effect. In addition, the medication enhances the anxiolytic effect when taking diazepam and the anticonvulsant effect of using carbamazepine.
