A tub is a special accessory for a bath

Most people love a bathhouse. Hot, with a park. And it is no wonder, after all after a bath you become purer not only a body, but also soul. And for health, the bath is a great tool. After the bath at the shower it becomes calm and joyful, as if all the hardships were washed away, the problems were gone. Especially if it is a wooden, clean, bright, cozy bath. And if you still get a fragrant birch, oak or spruce broom, the result from the bath will be simply amazing. Of course, in the bathhouse there must be special bath accessories: washcloths, basins, scoops and so on.

The tub is the necessary equipment

The soul of the sauna is a stove and a wooden tub. Meaning of the word: round wooden tub with handles in the form of ears (hence the name). In these "ears" there are holes where the stick was passed for convenience of wearing - two people easily lifted the tub in two directions.

It initially contained no more than 4 liters of water, but later they began to do more. Usually, cold water is taken there - for dousing after washing or hot water - for steaming a broom.

In Russian there is a phraseological phrase "pour a tub of cold water", which means "to hit someone with unpleasant news". They also use another turn - "pour the tub of pomos", which means "to desecrate someone, to slander".

In addition to the tub, there is another similar capacity, which is called a gang. The difference is that the tub is a low bonded product with two handles, and the gang is, as a rule, with one handle. Its volume is about ten to twenty liters, and use a gang for washing.

Also in the bath is a scoop. This ladle, which is used for pouring, filling other containers with water and for feeding water to the stones in the stove.

Earlier, the tub was made from the trunk of a tree, hollowing out a container inside. That is, the inner part of the trunk was removed, leaving only the bottom and slits (ears) for embedding the rope. It was a very laborious and long work.

Over time, people learned the art of Bocharism. Products began to be created from special rivets, which were very strong. This skill is not easy to learn - secrets that are passed down from generation to generation, there are a lot.

To be able to steam correctly in a bath is a real art. It's no wonder that such accessories as a pail-fryer, a scoop, a gang and a tub are a kind of symbol of a bathing event. They are like a soul and a talisman of this place.

Therefore, it is believed that as a gift to their loved ones and relatives, bath accessories are very suitable. After all, for example, a tub is a product made of pine, aspen, oak (it is made even from bamboo). And all the useful substances that contain wood have a therapeutic effect on the person using it: soothing, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing.
