5 things that can tell a man the length of his fingers

Men, look at your right hand. Is your index finger shorter than an anonymous finger? According to new research, the ratio of the length of your fingers can hint at everything - from personality to intelligence and physiology. Here are a few things that you can learn by looking at the length of the fingers of men.

Pleasant for women?

Men with a short index finger and long anonymous, as a rule, are better treated by women. This may be the result of hormones in the womb, scientists say.

During the study, 155 people (78 men and 77 women) recorded each social interaction with a representative of the opposite sex, which lasted five minutes or longer for three weeks. To do this, they used a checklist with "pleasant" or "grumpy" behavior. The behavior of men with insignificant ratio figures (index finger shorter than anonymous) was about three times more pleasant for women.

According to the previous study, this ratio shows the number of male hormones, mainly testosterone, the effect of which a person is exposed in the womb. The more testosterone, the larger the nameless finger grows.

Penis size

A smaller proportion was also associated with a more elongated form of the penis, according to a study conducted in 2011. The study involved 144 volunteers aged 20 years who underwent urological operations. At a time when men were anesthetized, the researchers measured the length of the male fingers and genitals.

The shorter the index finger in relation to the nameless, the more a man has a penis. The researchers suggest that the cause is also the effect of testosterone in the womb.

Attractiveness of a person

Men with a shorter index finger are the owners of a more beautiful face. Such results of the research for 2011, published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society.

The amount of testosterone a child undergoes before birth can affect the development of a person's face and its attractiveness.

Previous studies show that women prefer men with expressive "masculine" facial features. In other words, women are traditionally more attracted to men, whose faces are dominated by masculine traits (like Will Smith or Brad Pitt).

Intelligence

The length of the fingers is relevant not only to men, but also to women. For children of both sexes, the ratio was related to the passing of exams. A team of scientists made photocopies of children's palms, and then measured the ratio of fingers. The obtained data were compared with the results of testing of children. Both boys and girls, whose index fingers were shorter than the nameless, better understood the exact sciences than in the humanities. However, if the ratio in girls was very large (for which the ring finger was longer than the index finger), they were better versed in verbal tests than in mathematical tests.

The risk of prostate cancer

But a shorter index finger compared to nameless has its price: according to a 2010 study, there is a higher risk of developing prostate cancer.

The researchers watched the men who had such a relationship for 15 years. 1500 of them had prostate cancer, and 3000 were healthy. Scientists asked participants to look at the photos of their hands and choose those that are most similar to their own.

Men whose index fingers were as long as anonymous (or longer) had a 33% less chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer than men whose index fingers were shorter, as the study said.

The good news is that 33% is a small indicator, so people with a lower coefficient should not be too concerned about this issue.
