"Zhiguli-6" - review of the car VAZ-2106

VAZ-2106, or "Lada-6" - a car that was widely distributed in the Soviet Union and is known to all Russian citizens as the "Six". This is an improved model VAZ-2103 in the body sedan belongs to the III group of small class. From 1975 to 2005, more than 4.3 million pieces were produced from such plants as the Volga Automobile Plant, Roslada (Syzran), Anto-Rus (Kherson), and IzhAvto (Izhevsk).

Design solutions

The changes concerned not only technical characteristics, but also color and stylistic: the background of the sign became black (instead of cherry), the upholstery of the salon was represented only in several colors (although there were a lot of them earlier), got rid of chrome and wooden elements. All this can be seen in the photo. "Zhiguli-6" vividly demonstrated all the updates. In 1975, a limited number of cars were produced in red and yellow with new engines.

Equipment

Engineers tried to change and internal content. Thus, the car received an aggregate with a working volume of 1.6 liters (the effective power was 78 "horses"). All this became possible due to the increase of the cylinders from 76 to 79 mm. Also, the safety of the car was not spared. In the new version, preference was given to installing inertial belts and a standard fog lamp.

The speed of 100 km / h "Zhiguli-6" reaches 17.5 seconds, fuel consumption can vary from 7.7 liters to 12.0 liters, depending on the carburetor.

A four-speed or five-speed manual transmission corresponds to the technical characteristics of the car, it is simple and affordable. Automatic transmission for this model is not installed. The diameter of the wheels is 13 (R13), which is quite good for a sedan of this size.

Exterior

The front part of the body has clear, rough, but neat lines, they are rounded off next to the head optics. Two round headlights on each side make the car unusual, original and not so rough. Also in front there is a plastic radiator grille with small frequent ribs and a factory badge. The whole car is in fairly simple style. There is no exaggeration, and the chrome trim on the sides of the body only complements the overall look. The rear part of the car also has rounded and expressive lines. The car was in demand until 2000, at the moment the equipment and model is obsolete, but this is a good option for the middle class. Its appearance does not fit the European standard, but the machine is reliable and working. Of course, you will not be able to buy a completely "zero" car now, but the Zhiguli-6 is still selling in the secondary market.

The price is quite low, ranging from 15 thousand rubles. Up to 50 thousand rubles, and sometimes reaches 70 thousand rubles. A weighty criterion is the overall condition of the car. For comparison, in 1986 the model, released from the assembly line, was estimated at an average of about 9 thousand rubles.

So, the classic car "Zhiguli-1600" now occupies a confident position among the domestic car industry, perhaps this is not the most fashionable and comfortable model, but reliable and simple.
