VAZ-2110 - characteristics and description

A VAZ-2110 domestic car is a kind of legend of the Volga Automotive Industry, since thousands of Russian citizens travel by this car. Despite the fact that this sedan was removed from production a few years ago, you can see this copy on our roads everywhere.

Production history

For the first time the novelty descended from the assembly line in 1995. Three years later, in 1997, the production of "dozens" with the station wagon was set up. And only in 1999 the hatchback appeared. Also came a small pickup truck - VAZ-2110 Bogdan. By the way, very few people know, but the prototype of the model 2110 was developed in the distant 80-ies of the last century.

VAZ-2110 - body characteristics and build quality

Since the first days of production, until 1999, all the "dozens" were distinguished by their extremely poor build quality. The main engineering defect concerned the bodywork - huge uneven gaps, terrible paint quality, lack of anti-corrosion treatment. The VAZ-2110 silencer also rusted very quickly, as did the bodywork. The interior of the car did not differ from anything better - the dashboard looked like the design of German cars of the 80s, all the fins were very thunderous when driving (without additional noise insulation it was simply not necessary). There was such impression, that at the Volga car factory the quality control of assembly was never present. But all the flaws and shortcomings were covered by a low price (although, judging by the reviews, it still was overestimated by 30%).

VAZ-2110 - characteristics of engines

Throughout the production period, the VAZ car "ten" was equipped with two petrol engine types. The first is a carburettor unit with a capacity of 69 horsepower and a volume of 1.5 liters. The second - an injector engine with a capacity of 98 horsepower and a working capacity of 1.6 liters. Both engines were eight- and sixteen-valve type. The main advantage of these engines is the possibility of operation on the 92nd gasoline. On the novelty was installed a single five-speed gearbox.

Overclocking and efficiency

The maximum speed on the passport data is 180 kilometers per hour. The maximum fuel consumption is from 8 to 10 liters per hundred kilometers (quite an economical indicator for VAZ-2110). The speed characteristics did not change at all. It is worth saying that the car is somewhat harsh on the road, and at high speeds it becomes extremely dangerous, despite the fact that the suspension is on it like "Mac Ferson".

It was on this car for the first time that an onboard computer and an electronic engine management system began to be installed from the conveyor. Also in the novelty there were many other interesting things: electric windows and power steering.

End of production

The car was serially produced until 2009, after which it was replaced by a newer model - "Lada-Priora". But still the main problems with the lack of bodywork did not disappear. It seems that this problem will haunt all the following VAZ models.
