In 1965, he joined the youth team of the RSFSR in a tournament where young talents from the former Soviet republics competed.

The footballer's game did not go unnoticed by the leaders of the famous clubs (Dynamo M, Dynamo K). Yuri Semin - the first footballer of "Spartacus", who opened the score for the goals scored by the team in European competition. For their merit, the player receives a room in the Beskudnikovo neighborhood and Moscow residence permit. In 1968, unable to withstand competition and losing a place in the team, he moved to the team "Dynamo M".

Here, a fast and tenacious midfielder, characterized by high mobility and a biting blow, spends three seasons. He becomes the winner of the USSR Cup and the owner of the silver medals of the championship, scores a lot (19 goals). But the career of a football player in the "Dynamo" ended scandalously. Yuri Semin, the pounding, stable base player, was not included in the European Cup match with the Yugoslav "Crvena Zvezda". After a scuffle with the coach of the team K. Beskov, he leaves for the Kazakhstan club "Kairat".

An even greater scandal ends with the epic of Semin in Alma-Ata. Not finding a common language with the head coach of the team, he turns to unflattering attacks on the management of the club. Immediately followed by a severe punishment. According to the decision of the chairman of the Football Federation of the RSFSR Viktor Osipov, Yuri Semin is transferred for one year to the second football league, to the team "Chkalovets" (Novosibirsk).

In 1975, Semin - a football player of the Moscow club "Locomotive", his living legend as a player, and later as a coach. For three years he is the permanent captain and the best player of the team, a member of the club's coaching council.

Coach career

Coaching career Yuri Semin started in the team "Kuban", but, not seeing the prospects for the growth of the club, accepted the offer of "Pamir" (Dushanbe). Fruitful work with the Tajik club could not go unnoticed. In 1986, Yuri Semin became the head coach of the Moscow "Locomotive". Here he will be delayed for almost 20 years. This will be the best period in the history of both the team itself and Semin's coaching activities.

Under the leadership of Yuri Semin, Lokomotiv is a two-time champion and four-time winner of the Cup of Russia, winner of the Russian Super Cup, the Cup of the Commonwealth of Independent States. In addition, the team four times became silver and twice the bronze medalist of the Russian championship, a finalist of the USSR Cup and the Cup of Russia.

Two "Dynamo"

In 2005, the first conflict between the coach and the club management took place. Not finding an understanding in the questions of the composition of the team, Semin moves to the Moscow "Dynamo". Here his work did not work out. The disunited team suffered defeat after defeat. At the end of 2006, Yuri Semin resigns and returns to Lokomotiv, but as president of the club. True stay in this post was short-lived. This contributed to the failure of the performance in the Russian championship in 2007 (seventh place). Semin and coach A. Byshovets were fired.

Since the first of January 2008, Yuri Semin - coach of "Dynamo" (Kiev). But at the end of May 2009, he broke the contract with the Kiev club, returned to Moscow, in his native "Locomotive". There the head of the team was released. But the team was not the same. Not having achieved significant victories with the club, Yuri Semin returns to Kiev, where he manages the main team of Ukraine for three years. In September 2012, after a series of unsuccessful matches, coach Semin was fired.

For the period of work in Dynamo Kiev he achieved that the team once became the champion of Ukraine and three times the silver medalist of the championship, once won the Super Cup of Ukraine and twice played in the Cup final of the country.

On an inclined

Next were the teams that did not add Yuri Semin coaching reputation. Clubs "Gabala" and "Mordovia" - this is not the level of ambition of coach Semin. Since June 2015, Yuri Semin - coach, "Anji". He led the team that just returned to the Russian Premier League, which was recently the strongest football team in the country. The contract, signed for one year, was broken after three and a half months.

In view of unsatisfactory results (15th place) Semin was dismissed.

We are waiting for his next return to Lokomotiv.

As coach of national teams Yuri Semin did not show himself. In 1991, he failed to bring the youth team of New Zealand to OI-92, and in 2005 - failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup with the Russian national team.
