One of the cult books of America, along with the works of Faulkner, Fitzgerald, Dreiser and "Kill the Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. Bradbury reached the peak of his writing skills a few years before 1957, when the novel "Dandelion Wine" was written.

The summary of almost all the works of the author gives the reader to understand that in the center of his attention are the emotions and dreams inherent in each person. Thus, investigating the struggle between the impulses of destruction and creation that is being conducted in the soul of anyone living on Earth, the writer created the novel "451 degrees Fahrenheit", surrounding the arena, on which the drama of heroes is played, fantastic scenery.

Wanting to shake your reader, evoke in him memories of childhood and the time when the most naive dreams seemed real, wrote Ray Bradbury, "Dandelion Wine." The brief content of the story will allow you to prepare for the perception of its philosophical overtones and the deep symbolism with which it is permeated.

Star and Junior

Almost all the characters in the story of Bradbury are children or elderly people. It is the filigree selection of characters that makes the work understandable and accessible to the reader of any age: from a teenager to a deep old man. After all, in the mouth of the heroes are embedded words that reflect the human feelings that are peculiar to us all on any segment of the life path. Their actions the master of the word was able to convey so plausibly that there is no thought about the versatility.

The plot tells of a short period of time, which four protagonists spend together - one summer from their childhood. Two brothers (Tom and Douglas) fall into alterations, learn to understand what life and death are, openly discover for themselves the unknown world of adults. The grandfather of boys every summer, by tradition, prepares wine from dandelions. The summary of the story will be incomplete, if you do not mention that the name of this drink is taken in the title is not accidental. The very summer, full of discoveries and unique events, is embodied in this wine, which is lovingly prepared by an elderly man from flowers, which are harbingers of this warm pore. It seems to become a magical artifact, allowing you to touch memories, past joyful moments and to loved ones who are no longer alive.

Wine from dandelions. Summary

The work of Bradbury is multifaceted. The protagonist Douglas keeps a diary of the summer of 1928, which he spends surrounded by his friends, relatives and residents of the town of Greentown - a small, green and quiet place. The narrative is conducted on behalf of an adult who tries through childhood memories to regulate his views on age, life, death, affection and even such unusual things as witchcraft.

Fantastic motifs are constantly found in the story. For example, Tom constantly makes imaginary trips to a mysterious country, covered with fogs and full of mysteries. A boy friend, Leo, is a "machine of happiness" who must turn the future of mankind. But in parallel he tries to be an exemplary husband and does not anger his wife Lina, who has an extremely realistic view of the world.

One day, the children of the whole company are sent to the fortune-teller's house, for whom the mysterious Mr. Gloom is watching. They discover that the wizard is now replacing the machine that offers tickets with predictions in exchange for a penny. The guys have to check the serviceability of the magic unit and even give him a second life. In place of the fortune-telling machine comes a time machine that materializes in the minds of the boys from the stories of the old colonel. Such simple childish pleasures constitute the outline of the story "Dandelion Wine".

Ray Bradbury created a truly magical world. And it does not matter that in the second plan of the narrative, the inevitable deaths of the elderly members of the family invade children's lives. After all, it is magic and purity of the soul that will help them overcome the first grief. The lack of a linear storyline and the whimsical ligature of the events gave the charm of the fantastic story "Dandelion Wine". The summary can not fully convey the atmosphere of the work, but will prepare for reading and help highlight the main thing.
