Why you need a skirting board with a cable channel

Modern houses and apartments are equipped with various communication systems. In this case, you can find in them just a huge number of different household electrical appliances and other devices for everyday use. Each of these gadgets requires connection to the electrical network, and some of them even to the Internet. To do this, use various wires that are placed almost throughout the apartment, turning it into a kind of power plant.

To solve the problem with the wires, use a plinth plastic with a cable channel, although there is a technology that involves hiding wires in specially manufactured boxes. However, such boxes immediately catch your eye and spoil the appearance of the room. At the same time, if the apartment is being repaired, it will still have to purchase new materials for framing the corners of the floor and the wall, and a plastic skirting board with a cable channel will in this case be the ideal solution.

It should be noted that it should be used around the perimeter of the room. This is due to the fact that each party can have a certain shade, which is peculiar only to it. Therefore, if one does not install a skirting board with a cable channel in the entire room, but leave the omissions behind the furniture, then, when rearranged, it will be possible not to find the missing part of the required color even in the largest building materials market.

However, this kind of material in plastic version has its drawbacks. For its installation requires a perfectly flat wall. Otherwise, all the defects of the putty, which will manifest the plinth with the cable channel, will be noticeable. A wooden product of this type can hide flaws (it will require putty). Also, plastic products have a fairly brittle structure. If you accidentally hit with a foot, they can just burst. But their device allows for quick dismantling without damaging the skirting boards themselves. This allows you to access all the wires (as needed). That's why a plinth with a cable channel is often used instead of boxes for laying the cable route, if you have to work with a small amount.

The installation of such skirting boards can be carried out in two ways. The first involves installing around the perimeter of special latches, on which the selected material will be installed. In the second method, special self-tapping screws are used, with which the plinth with the cable channel is threaded through, fastening to the wall.

The first variant of fastening is not distinguished by close interaction with the wall and does not tolerate frequent dismantling. It only works on sites with ideal walls and on small segments, although manufacturers call it the most reliable. The second method provides good tolerability of any dismantling, it is great for correcting minor defects, but during the initial installation it requires accuracy, and also has a not very attractive appearance. Although many specialists have learned to hide the hats remaining on the surface so far from the screws that they are practically not visible on the skirting board itself.
