Why is it necessary to castrate people?

Castration of people is a medical operation consisting in anatomical or functional impact on the human genital organs, the purpose of which is to prevent natural fertilization.

Distinguish between partial and complete castration. Partial castration of people leads to the cessation of just one of the functions - generative or endocrine, with complete castration, both these functions cease to function. Today, medicine practices several types of this operation.

Surgical castration of a human

This type of surgery is performed in both men and women in the following cases.

  • In men, these are malignant neoplasms of the prostate and testicles, as well as their extensive trauma. After castration, the male grows a hair covering that spreads on his body according to the female type, atrophy of the prostate gland, and also reduces the sexual desire.
  • In women, surgical castration is performed with a malignant neoplasm of the ovaries, uterus, vagina, vulva and mammary glands. This is the removal of the ovaries by performing radiation therapy. This operation is performed only in those women who have not yet reached the menopause period and who have it for medical purposes.

Radiation castration of people is aimed at suppressing the hormonal and reproductive function of the sexual glands. It is performed both in women who are exposed to the ovaries, and in men (irradiate the testicles). Indications for such castration in women can be uterine cancer, as well as symptoms of uterine fibroids, which are accompanied by bleeding. Carry out the procedure and in cases where surgical intervention is impossible.

Castration of people by hormonal therapy is also used if the surgical method is contraindicated. Indication: in women with uterine bleeding in late menopause or menopause.

Chemical castration of man

This is a kind of alternative to surgical castration, but, unlike it, it does not pose a danger to the physical and mental health of a person. This type of exposure to childbearing organs is most often used to punish men for crimes of a sexual nature (especially against children). In this case, the sexual function is suppressed by special medications: a drug containing testosterone is injected in a modified form. This leads to an almost complete reduction in the production of male seed. As a result, the male hormone is almost not produced, which, in turn, leads to a decrease in sexual function.

Recently, in many countries, chemical castration began to be used, as already mentioned, for the purpose of punishment. For example, the US state of Virginia is quite a terrible measure, which is used to "teach" pedophiles. And the chemical castration of a guy happens regardless of his consent.

It should be noted that all types of this process cause a certain set of symptoms associated with the end of the endocrine gland function. The older the individual, the harder he tolerates them.
