Why does the mouse cursor hang?

While working on a computer, you may experience a problem such as hanging up, jittering, or disappearing the mouse cursor. This can be explained by the fact that the device itself is faulty or the software has failed.

If the mouse cursor freezes , the first thing that comes to mind is to check if the device wire is well inserted in the computer connector. It is possible that the USB port is faulty, to which the mouse is connected, so you need to try inserting the plug into the other connector. To make sure the device itself is faulty, you need to take another mouse and check how the cursor moves when working with it.

Often it happens that the mouse cursor disappears when foreign objects, pet hair, dust enter the optical connector. If they can not be removed completely, the mouse must be disassembled and cleaned. To do this, unscrew just one screw and remove the top cover. It is necessary to remove all the dirt inside, especially in the place where the beam falls.

If the mouse is wireless, you need to make sure that the batteries are not dead and check the signal level. The operation of the pointer may interfere with the signals of other devices connected via USB ports. At this point, the mouse cursor either freezes, does not react to movements, or periodically disappears, it appears. In this case, you should connect devices, for example, USB-modem and mouse, from different sides of the computer. It is recommended to keep mobile phones away from the working PC.

If you slow down the mouse cursor, it does not mean that the device itself is defective. Perhaps just need to increase the speed of the pointer. To do this, enter the "Control Panel" through the "Start" and open the parameters tab in the mouse settings. Here you can change the cursor speed at your own discretion, while retaining the settings.

Hovering the mouse cursor may occur due to virus damage to the system files. In this case, you must remove the USB driver from the "Control Panel" in the "Add or Remove Programs" section and reinstall it. You can find the USB driver on the Internet or download from a disk that is sold with the mouse. After reinstallation, you must restart the computer and check the operation of the device.

The mouse cursor may disappear or not respond to motion while working in the browser. If this happens only in the browser, then first you need to try to reinstall it. If nothing has changed, then, most likely, the problem is in the plug-in Adobe Flash Player, so it is suggested to replace the old version with a new one. In addition, you can disable plug-ins in the browser settings, but then on the sites you can not see the flash images.

It happens that the mouse cursor hangs when a lot of processes are running on the computer, which heavily burdens the memory and the processor. In this case, it is recommended to disable unnecessary processes and remove them from the automatic launch.

Sometimes the problem of drawing the cursor can be solved by reinstalling the graphics card drivers, replacing them with newer versions.

In some cases, the hang of the cursor may be due to the use of animated pointers. To get rid of the problem, you need to select the standard cursor type.
