Artemis was considered the bearer of dew, the patroness of hunters and the personification of the moon, replacing the older moon goddess Selena. As a deity of the hunt, she is portrayed with a doe at her feet and in a short dress. As the moon goddess Artemis had a long dress and a torch in her hand.
