What Oil Fill into the Engine

Every year the number of cars on the roads is growing and now it is no longer a luxury, as there are almost every family. In order for him to serve you for a long time you need a caring care. Not unimportant is the choice of oil for pouring into the engine of your car. Why do you need oil, what oil should be poured into the engine? The oil for pouring into the engine is necessary for performing a number of functions:

  1. When the engine is warmed up and the machinery of the vehicle is cooled, the oil cools them;
  2. Reduces the friction of parts, which leads to improved engine performance and reduced fuel consumption;
  3. Provides tightness of the engine;
  4. Protects car surfaces against corrosion and wear;
  5. Prevents deposits on the engine parts of impurities and oxidation products.

What kind of oil should be poured into the engine?

It is best not to save and pour good oil, while giving priority to well-known manufacturers. Thus, you reduce the wear of parts of your car and extend its service life.

When you buy a new car, especially if it is your first, then you are facing a choice which oil is poured into the engine of the car? First of all, you need to look into the car's instructions. Usually there it is indicated which oil is recommended for use in winter and summer time, and also what viscosity of oil is recommended for this brand of car. Viscosity and its dependence on the ambient temperature is one of the main characteristics of the oil. The viscosity parameter is denoted by the abbreviation SAE. If the characteristics of the oil you are pouring in will not meet the recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer, this can lead to loss of engine power. Thick oils are better used for engines operating at high loads, and oils with reduced viscosity are better used for engines with high revs. If the car is used, it is better to check with the previous owner what oil it was pouring. This is necessary, since changing oil can damage your car. It is not recommended to interfere with various types of oils.

Which oil is better?

The following types of oils are distinguished:

- Mineral (oil). Mineral oil has better lubricating properties. It is often used at the first pouring. The fluidity of the mineral oil is not stable. By its properties, it is worse than synthetic and semi-synthetic. A positive point with respect to semisynthetic is that it decomposes better and there is no need to dispose of it with the help of harmful chemicals.

- Synthetic. This type of oil has more stable properties: thermal and chemical. It is less susceptible to any external influences, it has a longer service life. However, it is expensive and it has a large expense in fumes.

- Semisynthetic. This type of oil is inferior in its properties to synthetic, but good in relation to it at a price, that is, it is cheaper. It has a good set of properties, but it has less extreme frost resistance. It is recommended to fill it in cars with large runs, if the burning of synthetic oil increases.

Oils must have detergent, anti-wear, dispersant, anti-corrosion, demulsifying, and protective properties, low volatility, high thermal and oxidation stability and thermal stability.

Manufacturers of the chemical industry produce oils that are designed for diesel, gasoline engines and universal. Universal oils are not a bad choice, but still it is better to use the oil recommended by the manufacturer of the vehicle, which is designed specifically for your type of engine.

When you choose which oil to pour into the engine, you need to take into account the technical condition of the car, the type of engine, compatibility of the selected oil with the engine, fuel quality, operating conditions.
