What kind of threat is protected by the Department of Homeland Security

The management of our country's own security is a separate structure within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. If to speak about the history of appearance, then the date of the foundation of this supervisory unit can be considered the middle of the 90s of last century (December 9, 1995). It was then on the instructions of the President (Yeltsin) that a special order was issued, according to which the Department of Homeland Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of our state appeared in the capital.

Structure of the Office

Since 2004, the General Directorate of its own security has changed its status and became known as the Department. However, in everyday life his original name was preserved.

The structure of the CSS is quite ramified and includes the Department, as well as the Department for its own security in Moscow and the Moscow region. However, the huge territorial extent and the number of employees in the department demanded the creation of additional units. In each territorial district of the capital there is a Department of its own security, which allows to cover the maximum number of employees of the department.

Tasks of CSS

Initially, the creation of such an isolated structure was caused by the need to prevent corrupt activities within the Interior Ministry units. Today, the Department of Homeland Security solves such problems:

• Identification of unscrupulous employees in the ranks of the police;
• Impossibility of introducing into the ranks of employees of the department persons who pursue criminal purposes, as well as their timely identification;
• Conducting large-scale preventive and educational work to prevent the facts of corruption or other abuses.

In addition, the Department of Homeland Security is called upon to provide state protection for employees of investigative bodies and members of their families.

How the Department Works

The internal security service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs not only conducts internal inspections and investigations, regularly performs certification of the agency's employees , but also carefully analyzes information coming from the population. For this, there are public reception rooms, hot telephone lines, Internet portals.

Contacting the Department of their own security is quite simple: a citizen should simply call or write an appeal indicating violations, facts of corruption activity or manifestations of dishonest work of the department's employees.

Results of the CSS

As the statistics of the Department show, over the years of its existence, the employees of the service have revealed a truly awful amount of crimes within the department. Despite the somewhat skeptical attitude of many citizens, the service operates effectively and fairly harshly, although it can not be called an exception when violators of the law manage to escape punishment. Some experts attribute this to the so-called "corporate bail", which can be observed, for example, in medicine. Others often talk about the lack of activity and inattention of the citizens themselves to the obvious facts of violations or corruption.
