There is a general rule among the people that the probability of success is much higher if a disk is mounted, the flown is slightly less than the required one, while mounting a disk with a large outreach is not always successful.

Sometimes you may experience some problems with installing smaller disks. However, this is easily solved by an additional installation of spacers for shock absorbers, which slightly raises the rear clearance. In addition, fluctuations in the values of the outset of the disk within ± 5 mm from the standard value are considered quite acceptable.

If you still installed discs with non-standard departure values for your car, it must be taken into account that the distance from the bearing to the point of support on the ground also changed. And the larger the value, the greater the load will be on the bearing. This is due to the fact that the generated torque will create a load that will exceed the nominal load.

If you chose fairly narrow disks, then you should take into account that the outreach should be slightly larger than the standard one. And vice versa: wide disks are smaller. In the event that you are at a loss to find suitable discs, you should contact a qualified specialist.

The installation of improperly selected disks can lead to negative changes in the car's handling on the road and reduced ride comfort, rapid wear of the suspension components, and changes in their characteristics (turning radius of the wheel, stroke, run-in arm). In addition, the behavior of the steering will change, the track width and fuel consumption will change, which will ultimately lead to a reduction in the life of the car. It should take care not only about the appearance of the car, but also about the safety of passengers inside it.
