What is the blood counts?

The basic components of blood are the liquid part represented by plasma, and the cellular part, represented by three categories of hematopoietic cells in the form of leukocytes, erythrocytes and platelets. Accordingly, the level of certain elements in the circulatory system varies depending on the processes occurring in the body of various inflammatory or other processes not corresponding to the normal healthy state (dehydration, various diseases of viral or bacterial origin, pathology of the circulatory system, poisoning, oncological diseases, bleeding).

Blood values for various diseases are assessed using various tests, the most common of which is its general analysis. Let us dwell on this study of this living fluid in more detail.

So, to examine whether the blood counts are normal, a common blood test, which is familiar to everyone , is available , which is the main basic test, which allows to obtain an overall picture of the volume ratio of the elements of this red liquid, the level of hemoglobin, the ratio of plasma and cell part.

This well-known test makes it possible to obtain the following blood parameters: quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the composition of hematopoietic cells; The establishment of a specific number of red blood-forming cells, their shape and size, with a specific index of hemoglobin contained in them; Percentage ratio of liquid and cellular parts (hematocrit); Definition of leukocyte formula; The establishment of a number of platelets, as well as data on the analysis of ESR.
Due to the fact that in a healthy organism the normal blood values are marked by a stable ratio of the composition of the hematopoietic cells, all the changes accompanying various diseases primarily allow us to diagnose these or other disorders. Of course, there are exceptional conditions in which blood values can vary, for example, during menstruation or pregnancy in women. Also, blood counts may vary slightly under the influence of external factors: working conditions, meals.

For conducting this research test, there is no need for special preparatory measures, the only requirement for the test is to hold it on an empty stomach. The material for the dough is whole blood fluid, the time interval of the study is one day.

Only a qualified specialist can accurately analyze the blood indicators, by conducting a general analysis. But any person, having the necessary data, can draw a conclusion about the state of health in general. At the same time, information that can be learned is more than enough. For example, among the main indicators, the amount of hemoglobin, the hematocrit, the quantitative indices of the content of the cellular subgroup to which the blood belongs (platelets, erythrocytes, leukocytes), plus the erythrocyte indices denoted by the Latin abbreviations as follows: MCV, RDW, MCH, MCHC.
