In the modern world of terminology, new words are emerging, one of which is "monitoring". So, what is monitoring?

Monitoring is presented as a systematic collection and processing of information that can be used to improve the decision-making process, and can also serve as a tool for informing the public and developing strategies and tactics in certain life processes.

Constant tracking of a process to compare it with the desired result characterizes the term "monitoring". Its definition lies in various spheres of human activity.

What is monitoring - the whole science will answer. So, the main words in the definition of this term is the phrase "information gathering". From here follow the basic organizational functions:

- Identification of critical or irreversible changes in environmental phenomena, for the elimination of which a program of actions will be developed in the future;

- Establishment of a relationship with their environment, which can be based on the experience of previous failures or successes in a particular policy or program;

- establishing compliance with contractual obligations and rules.

As indicated, monitoring is applied in various sectors of the national economy and, in particular, in international relations, where in this terminology is understood the activities of various international organizations aimed at monitoring the fulfillment by the state of its obligations under concluded international treaties.

There are certain mechanisms in which monitoring is being implemented. That this should be considered more specifically: observation of elections by international experts, the European Court of Human Rights, etc.

In the publications of some authors, in the answer to the question "what is monitoring?", Often in the definition of this term, "supervision", "control", "supervision" are used as synonyms. However, this is not entirely true, and the closest Russian equivalent of this word is "tracking", "observation".

So, what is monitoring, can be defined in the following semantic values:

- continuous continuous monitoring of the performance of any system activity, economic, social or demographic process to determine their compliance with certain trends, contributing to early warning of undesirable events;

- evaluation, tracking and forecasting of the environment taking into account human economic activity (for example, determination of radiation background);

- Collect information to study public opinion on a particular issue.

Monitoring can be used in a variety of areas. So, there is monitoring of the environment, monitoring of human health resources. In other words, this term has entered our life quite firmly and often the adoption of any decisions is directly related to the monitoring data.

Sufficient attention is paid to monitoring in various companies when processing a huge amount of information, which, it would seem, is not subject to structuring, but requires a compact report as a result, with concrete and qualitative indicators depicted in the graphs and diagrams. Therefore, often some firms are attracted to complete collection of information with subsequent analysis of specially trained professionals who understand what needs to be monitored and what key parameters to use. After having received and correctly analyzed the information received, you can strengthen the reputation of the company.
