What is HLS and why it is so important

In different sources, one can note the fact that some people do not quite understand the meaning of the concept of "Healthy way of life", and all the more do not have information about what a HLS is. At the same time, this abbreviation arose a long time ago - the first mentions in printed form refer to those times when there was very little information available in the public domain, and samizdat was the main way to distribute it. Around the same time, people had the opportunity to write out the newspaper "Soviet Sport" and receive it together with the "Herald of Healthy Holidays" supplement. It published various exercises, articles on health improvement, yoga. And this word became common.

What is HLS? This is, first of all, the way of life of a person who aims at Health promotion and disease prevention. Also this concept is revealed by medical specialists working in the field of physical culture: it is a scientifically based realization of a single complex of socio-psychological, medical and biological structure of preventive actions. Of great importance in it are physical education, a combination of leisure and work, the development of individual stability. The formation of HLS is relevant even in childhood, when there is a change in the nature of the loads on the human body, the formation of a way of life in general.

Everyone knows that somatic health affects the psychoemotional state. It, in turn, is in direct connection with the mental attitudes. Therefore, a number of authors identify the foundations of HLS:

• Emotional well-being, which includes psycho-hygiene and the ability to cope with emotions.

• Intellectual well-being, namely the ability of an individual to optimally use new information in a new situation.

• Spiritual well-being, which finds itself in the ability to establish truly meaningful goals and strive for them.

• Social well-being, consisting in the ability to interact with other personalities.

To fully understand what a HLS is, you need to study those factors that hinder its proper formation.

Factors affecting the way of life

Stress. They surround each of us everywhere: work (conditions, intensity, salary ...), home (children, husband, cleaning ...). Modern people live in constant fears of losing their jobs, housing, saving, fearing the health of their loved ones.

Food. There are fewer and fewer natural products on our tables and more preservatives, flavor enhancers, sweeteners and GMOs.

Comfort: transport, work with constantly on air conditioner, computer and other equipment. Physical activity is reduced, which very often comes down to the home-transport-work-transport-house route.

In addition to these factors, subjective factors also affect, which are expressed in pessimism, laziness, bad habits. For example, smoking. It negatively affects the work of all organs, interferes with the normal assimilation of vitamins and other microelements.

Thus, when answering the question, what is HLS, one can say that this is:

  • A healthy diet, in which the menu contains a large amount of fiber, natural vitamins;
  • Sufficient physical activity: morning exercises, walking, cycling ;
  • Complete rejection of bad habits.
