What is citrine? The medicine against allergies.

It's no secret that over the last century, the number of patients with various forms of allergy has increased several times. Urticaria, Quincke's edema, hay fever, atypical dermatitis and others. Their list can be continued. But they all have one thing in common: they are all different types of allergies due to the excessive sensitivity of the immune system. And it is in many respects the result of the progress of the last hundred years.
At the heart of any allergic process is two groups of reactions. The first is contact with the allergen. And only with the one to which the immune system is particularly sensitive. And the second is the reaction to this contact. It manifests itself in the release of a large number of substances from special cells (bradykinin, histamine, etc.). These substances actually cause allergic reactions. But besides this they act on such cells, forcing them to produce the same substances. As a result, a whole cascade of reactions develops. And it will go on until all cells cease to produce these substances, called mediators of allergies.
Since the discovery of mechanisms of allergy, and to this day, antihistamines are used in medicine . Now there are several tens and three generations. This is due to the fact that earlier medications have a sufficient number of side effects. And their use in many cases forces people to abandon certain activities.
Among the drugs of the second generation, citrine is particularly prominent. The drug has the ability to bind to receptors for histamine for a long time without exciting them. That is, citrine - a drug blocking these receptors and histamine can no longer realize its effects. Its main advantage, in comparison with the drugs of the first generation, is a minimal effect on the brain. Thus, citrine tablets practically do not cause drowsiness. In addition, the time of action is very large - almost 24 hours. Therefore, citrine is taken once a day.
According to the main indicators of metabolism, citrine is a medicine with very good characteristics. It has great accessibility. This means that when you use one tablet of citrine, virtually all the medicine in an hour, will be in the blood. Most of it binds to blood proteins and is slowly released from them. Thus, providing a constant level of concentration. In addition, there is one more feature that citrine possesses. The medicine is excreted from the body, mostly without changes, with the help of kidneys. Only a small part of it is inactivated in the liver. While most other drugs are metabolized by the liver.
Citrine is available in coated tablets. One contains 10 milligrams of citrine and about 500 milligrams of excipients. In addition, there is a syrup. It is designed for children from two years old. This fact is very noteworthy, since for many drugs the minimum permissible age is 6 years. And atypical dermatitis sick children at any age. Therefore, for children with atypical dermatitis and diathesis, a syrup of citrine is shown, a medicine in a form convenient for them.

When taken in therapeutic doses, 1 tablet once a day, the drug in the blood has a constant concentration. The course is 7-10 days. Moreover, the force of action does not decrease with time, since citrine does not cause tolerance - a gradual decrease in sensitivity to the drug. What happens in most other antihistamines. The same effect persists for 3 days after the last tablet.
Side effects practically do not differ from all antihistamines. But they are usually less pronounced and often not recorded. Among them: nausea, headache drowsiness.
