What do the names of angels mean?

In many spiritual traditions there is an idea of guardian angels. In fact, they are such entities that are called upon to protect their wards from the forces of evil or help them resist sinful actions and thoughts. Also within the scope of their powers is the praise of the Lord God and the defense of his teachings.

The names of the Angels are widely known everywhere, but their meanings are not always known. If the angel is rightly called, he will give strength and help to cope with the difficult situation. Here are some of the names of the angels of the world: Uriel (meaning "the light of God," he can warn of impending cataclysms, but seeing him is not easy), Raphael (an angel-healer, patronizing scientists and travelers), Gabriel (means "Divine Power"), Michael (Head of the Heavenly Host, still called "Like God"), Anael (translated as "Remembrance of God to Me"), Sachiel (means "Justice of God"), Cassiel ("The Throne of God"). There is also Archangel Metatron, who is all higher. This means the name "Voice of God." This is only in the Christian and Kabbalistic traditions.

In the Muslim tradition, there are also the names of the Angels (they often echo the Christian ones). In the Buddhist religion, angels have another name - bodhisattvas and symbolize themselves nothing more than aspects of the mind of the Buddha.

Such aspects include the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Kubera, the Green and White Tara, as well as the defenders of the dharma - Mahakala, Rahul, Dorje Legpu, Ekajati. The names of the Angels in the Buddhist tradition, of course, are very different in importance, because there is no idea of God as such. There is an idea that our mind is a clear light, and in order to achieve ultimate enlightenment, it is enough to realize our original state as a state of self-improvement. This comes to the aid of the Lama or the Guru and the endless host of Bodhisattvas, Defenders, Dakinis who, if you think about and draw parallels, are the same Angels of light and death known to us and more understandable to our mentality.

For some people, the Angel of Death is an evil beginning and the Devil. But many are inclined to think that the Angel of Death is not evil and not good. It is necessary for the normal course of things, therefore, death is not spoken of as evil, but as a transition to something new. Angels of death and fallen angels are different concepts. It is generally accepted that the latter have a list of those people who must die. Therefore, they are ranked among the fallen, although in reality these angels are morally neutral and can not be ranked as vice and evil. The names of the Angels of death, these entities who also serve God, helping to get to the heavens dead - Azrael and Samuel. Proclaiming them, we call the Angels of Death to the bed of the deceased person, to help him quickly get into another world, where he can meet with those deceased whom he loved during his lifetime. Also known are the names of the Angels of Death: Anku (the Bretons are the Messenger), Donn (the meaning of the name is "darkness") - the Irish god of death, Douma (from Aramaic - "silence") - the angel of silence and stillness, Prince of Hell; Malah-ha-mavet (the messenger of death).
