What do the boxes on the back of tubes mean? Tare marking

Care of the skin, body and mouth is one of the main daily items of personal hygiene. It is unlikely that someone will go on business, without washing, or with a stale breath. By the way, humanity has been taking care of itself for a very long time. True, our ancestors did not do it the way we used to, because in ancient times there was not such a developed chemical industry, accordingly, various oils, plant extracts and other improvised natural remedies were used.

Nowadays, cosmetic products are abundantly sold in almost any stores, including supermarkets. Every person in the house probably has at least a few jars with different shower gels or shampoos. A particularly extensive range of packaging, bottles and bottles is available for most beautiful ladies. And do you know what the strips on tubes, which contain cosmetic products , mean ? We will describe this below.

Resin and soap root

Scientists involved in the study of life and life of ancient people, argue that the habit of taking care of their own hygiene was formed even 5000 years ago before our era. Our ancient ancestors brushed their teeth by chewing gum and beeswax. Apparently, these sticky masses collected the remains of food, stuck between the teeth. Instead of the usual soap or cream-gel for the shower, ashes and the so-called soap root were used. Ladies of those times courted the skin of the face and body with the help of essential oils, various clay, milk. Especially distinguished in this issue is the Egyptians - only Cleopatra's bath is worth it!

The invention of the similarity of the first toothbrush also belongs to the ancient Egyptians. To clean the teeth, they used tree branches. Before use, the tip of the twig was carefully chewed until it became like a brush, and then with this simple device cleansed the teeth. By the way, Muslims still use such chopsticks.

Ancient recipes

A prehistoric prototype of a toothpaste was invented by all the same Egyptian inventors. It was a powder mixture, which included incense, twigs of mastic wood, myrrh, ashes of burnt bovine entrails, wiped raisins, egg shell eggs and mutton horns. Egyptian hygiene products cost unusually expensive, so they were allowed only by people from high society.

All the nationalities stored their cosmetics in beautiful amphorae, jars and vessels, while they used them very sparingly. Tubes appeared much later. Naturally, on containers with cosmetics there was no marking (except that a beautiful pattern), and our ancestors did not have to puzzle over what the squares on tubes with cosmetics meant.

Inconvenient jars

The development of humanity required change. They did not bypass the sphere of cosmetics. The first toothpaste appeared in 1873 - it was invented by the well-known to this day company Colgate. This paste was a mint flavor and was sold in small uncomfortable glass jars. Creams and cosmetic emulsions were also produced in jars, and the more expensive the cosmetic remedy, the more refined the packaging.

Ur a tube!

The idea of creating a tube familiar to us belongs to the artist John Rend. He was tired of storing his paints in folds made of tin foil, and he came up with a familiar capacity. The resourceful portraitist received a patent for his invention in September 1841, and his friend and part-time dentist Washington Sheffield showed the world the first folding tin tube for toothpaste.

Developers of the company Colgate appreciated the convenient innovation first, and already in 1896 toothpaste in tubes became incredibly popular in Europe and America. It included eucalyptus oil, soap and sometimes fruit extracts. Following the toothpaste, the tubes that you love with the consumers began to be filled with creams for hands, face and body, and the fanciful jars gradually fell into the background.

At the end of the Second World War, the chemical industry began to develop giant leaps. There is a world-famous sodium lauryl sulfate, which has a wonderful soap property. At the same time, there is a revolution in the production of gels and lotions for washing, bath foam, shower creams. Evolution touched also means for care of an oral cavity: pastes with fluorine and various tastes and directions of action are issued. And it is at this time there is a marking of the package, which includes not only the name of the product and the manufacturer, but also the composition.

Check-boxes

Relatively recently, the world community was alarmed by reports that the squares or stripes on the tube, depending on their color, purportedly indicate the percentage of the presence of harmful chemical and useful natural substances in the contents. Everyone was looking for the answer to the question about what the squares on the back of the tubes mean, and the publications were literally full of interpretations of these color labels. By the way, they can be black, blue, white, blue, red and green. Please note that this labeling applies not only to the production of tubes, but also to the means of plastic bottles. And really, what do the squares on the back of the tubes mean in the opinion of the majority?

  • A square or strip on a tube of toothpaste or cream of black color means that the contents are completely chemical, without any admixtures of any useful constituents. Such a mark is placed on products of the worst quality, use it harmful and dangerous for health.
  • Blue or red marking is applied on containers with cosmetic or hygienic means, the composition of which is 30% of natural ingredients. The remaining 70% is solid chemistry. As a rule, the quality of the contents of the tube leaves much to be desired.
  • And what do the boxes on the back of the tubes of white, blue or green mean? Such notes are placed only on containers with entirely natural products of the highest quality.

Debunking myths!

In fact, it is impossible to determine the quality of a cosmetic or hygienic product by the color of the marking. This is a myth that is exaggerated in the society from ignorance of reality. The composition of any product, be it toothpaste or a cream with hyaluronic acid, can be seen on the package. Font, as a rule, small, but if you want it is quite readable.

But if there is a marking, then this is for some reason necessary. What do the boxes on the back of tubes and plastic jars mean, if it's not about quality? It's simple! In fact, all these squares-stripes - nothing else than the so-called light tag.

Consider the technology of manufacturing tubes. Imagine a conveyor. On it there is a batch of the future container for a nutritious cream or a tooth-paste which at first is a bobbin from a special foil with the already put information about a product. The tape moves slowly, and the machine cuts off equal pieces, seals the ends, fills the contents and screws the caps onto the tubes. In order for everything to be exactly and equally, and the machine cut the workpiece in the right place (rather than 2-3 cm more or less), these light marks are applied. They serve as a kind of clue: "Cut here!" The color of the label always corresponds to the color of the font or pattern on the container.

That's the secret of the strip on tubes! Therefore, if you see a black box on the container with your cosmetic remedy, do not throw it in the trash, believing that it is of poor quality. It's not so scary!
