Ways to decorate a bottle with your own hands

The creation of exclusive interior items is quite affordable for beginners, especially when it comes to glass products. After all, there are many interesting ways to decorate a bottle with your own hands. And some of them are presented below.

Decoration of bottles - decoupage

Decoupage, perhaps, is the easiest way to decorate the glass surface when it comes to the smooth curves that are so characteristic of bottles. So, for the creation in this technique you need a large bottle, PVA glue and decoupage paper or thick fabric.

Before you start decorating the glass surface, you should remove all labels and gently clean the surface of the glue and other traces of dirt. By the way, this procedure is mandatory for any method of decorating a bottle with your own hands. Next, you need to determine what type of decoupage will be used: whether the surface will be fully decorated or decorations will occupy only a part of it. So, the bottles of champagne are best looked, if they are completely "covered" with decoupage material. But on the container from whiskey or cognac it will be interesting to look a partial decoupage.

The process of decapping the bottle does not differ from the usual method for other surfaces. So, the glass is treated with a base for decoupage, then it is ground with glue and a paper or fabric motif is applied. After the drawing dries, it is covered with varnish for decoupage. And the decor is done.

Decorating the bottle with your own hands using acrylic

To do this, you will need directly a bottle, a building tape or stencils, an acrylic paint, a brush or a sprayer.

The bottle is prepared in the manner described above. Then temporarily fixes the stencil or tapes of scotch to the surface in accordance with the planned pattern. Then the bottle is applied with acrylic paint. It is worth noting: if the bottle is decorated with a single color, then it is best to use a sprayer. And in case of using different tones, the ideal option for applying acrylic paints will be brushes. Remove the stencil immediately after painting, after which the products are left to dry. The process of decorating a bottle with your own hands using acrylic can be considered finished.

Decoration of a bottle with bulk materials

You can create a convex and living pattern on a glass surface using loose materials such as, for example, a mango or colored sand. To create a beautiful ornament, you do not need a special art education, just use stencils, PVA glue and loose material.

The process itself is as follows. The contour of the selected motif is applied to the surface of the bottle using a stencil and glue. Immediately after this, without waiting for drying, the surface is applied with loose material. This can be done with a disposable syringe, moving strictly along the lines of the pattern, or apply a mango or sand to the entire surface, and then allow the excess material to dry out and pour out.

The process of this method of bottle decoration is finished with a special fixing varnish, which will allow the material to permanently fix on the surface, and in the case of a manga it will save it from spoilage.

The presented three ways to decorate a bottle with your own hands are just the basis for creating exclusive interior items. Glass containers can be decorated with the most incredible materials.
