Watering orchids at home: the main thing is not to overdo it
If you want the orchids that appeared in your house to please you with active growth and beautiful flowers for more than one year, then you need to understand all the subtleties of caring for them. In addition to selecting the right pot, soil, location, correct correction of daylight, it is important to organize a competent irrigation of orchids at home. Do not forget that it will depend on what is the usual climate for the variety of this tropical flower you have acquired. Most often phalenopsis is acquired into the house - the most unpretentious and at the same time quite effective plant.
There are several ways how to water a home orchid. Moistening of the soil is most often carried out by the usual method in many ways: standing or melted water of room temperature is poured onto the surface of the substrate. It is important to make sure that it is dry before the moment of watering. The need for irrigation is determined at a depth of 1 cm, even if there is no moisture in the upper layer of the soil - this is not yet an indicator. Make sure that the water that has got into the funnel formed by the leaves does not stagnate there - it can cause rotting.
Despite the fact that orchids are afraid of excessive moistening of the soil and roots, they are still tropical plants, so it is important for them that they are in a place with high humidity. It will be nice if you can spray them every morning: the water should fall on leaves, flower sprouts, buds and the flowers themselves.
