Warming of walls. Nuances

In modern construction, the insulation of the walls of residential buildings is not a whim, but a necessity. Correctly made heat insulation can significantly improve the temperature conditions in the premises: significantly reduce heating fees during the cold months of the year, and in the hot summer - keep cool in the rooms. The second is not entirely obvious, but it is so. Remember the thermos: if you pour hot water into it, the process of cooling it will be slowed down; However, the same is true for cold water - its natural heating to ambient temperature will be much slower than outside the thermos, although, of course, the efficiency coefficient will be lower than in the first case. In addition, the insulation of brick walls is a kind of cosmetic repair. Correctly done once, it subsequently practically does not require attention to itself.

The person who decided to perform the warming of the walls of the house, before starting work, must remember the main rule - the layers of insulation must be mounted from the outside! Thanks to this, there will be no freezing of the wall, which is not only more optimal in terms of heating costs, but also keeps the wall itself from destruction due to the dew point shift . Internal heat-insulating layers are also acceptable (and give an even greater effect), but their installation should take place after the external insulation of the walls is performed.

The next feature, which must be taken into account: you can not insulate rooms with a high level of humidity, such as a bathroom, before not having taken care of effective ventilation. Otherwise, moisture will be "closed", provoking the destruction of the walls.

And, finally, the insulation of walls without the replacement of windows with modern metal-plastic ones, installation of relatively tight doors, insulation of the floor and ceiling seems to be a half-measure. The issue of thermal insulation should be addressed in a comprehensive manner, because ignoring even one item can negate all efforts.

After completing the entire amount of work, it may turn out that air exchange is not enough. For example, according to modern sanitary norms, in residential premises the entire volume of air must be renewed no less than once in two hours. But the insulating wall layers, no matter what they are, no matter how "breathing" they are, if they do not interrupt the renewal of air through the walls, it slows down significantly. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of the system of forced ventilation (there are simple but effective ready-made solutions).

Warming of frame walls should take into account all of the above. The peculiarity of their design is that it is highly undesirable to get moisture in the heat-insulating blocks. This causes a decrease in effectiveness, the appearance of fungus, a long drying out.

When all the nuances are taken into account, you can proceed with the choice of insulation material. Among the popular destinations, there are only a few:

- thermal insulation of walls with foam plastic;

- with mineral wool;

- Construction of additional walls of porous materials (cellular concrete);

- the use of siding with a simple air layer.

Technologies are constantly being improved, so it is quite possible that new ones have already appeared.

The most affordable option - polystyrene plates. They can be mounted by even one person. Analogous in size, mineral wool has a much larger mass, and if we take into account the total weight, then this additive is unlikely to "like" the foundation. Roller heaters are light and effective, but they will have to be hidden by layers of plating (plaster will not work). The erection of new walls is, indeed, a very capital solution, requiring a large financial cost.
