Walks around Moscow: Ostankinsky pond. How to get to the stop "Ostankinsky pond"

It is believed that the name "Ostankino" appeared due to the ancient cemetery, which was located on the site of the current Small Telecentre. According to legend, here were buried suicides - due to this sad circumstance the terrain acquired a somewhat ominous fame. After the fire, stories appeared on the television tower about the ghost of the old woman, allegedly portending misfortune: this ghost saw on the eve of death the famous Praskovya Sheremetyev.

A bit of history

In 1620 the tsar granted Ostankino to the possession of the princes of Cherkassy. In the heyday of the surname it was a chic summer residence, in which Empress Elizabeth was four times. In the 17th century, instead of a wooden church, a stone temple of the Life-Giving Trinity was built, and around the same time in the floodplain of the Gorlinka River (Goryachka, Ostankino Stream), Ostankinsky Pond was also named Dvortsov, since it was part of the manor and was in close proximity to the manor house.

Sheremetyev Theater

In 1743 the estate became the property of the Sheremetyevs: Princess Cherkasskaya married a representative of the family name, the estate was considered her dowry. Until the XVIII century, Ostankinsky Pond languished in silence: no one disturbed the rest of these places, until Count N. Sheremetev in the XVIII century was not carried away by theatrical art. A well-known patron of art built here his famous fortress palace-theater. Representations were given on a grand scale: in the mass scenes, sometimes more than 70 people participated. Thanks to this page of history Ostankinsky pond is also called Akterkin - according to legends, sometimes serfress actresses exhausted by barbaric abuse were sometimes drowned.

What is a pond

The reservoir has the form of an irregular elongated quadrangle. One of the long sides - from the side of the 1st Ostankino, the other repeats a straight line st. Academician Queen. Short beaches are located on the street. Novomoskovsk and Ostankino Institute of Television.

From the point of view of wildlife lovers, the landscape here is too urban. In an effort to improve the city authorities have turned the Ostankino pond into a sort of sterile place: the banks are firmly encased in concrete, along the edge - a civil border. The only entertainment that is available to visitors is boating on a boat rented at the local station. On the paths around and around the park you can ride a roller or bike. From the banks a magnificent view of the Ostankino TV tower opens .

The pond is filled with water due to deep and shallow waters, but for some time now it needs additional resources and is supplied with tap water. Swim in it is not recommended, and not too convenient.

Monument to Zvorykin

In 2013, Moscow celebrated the 125th anniversary of Vladimir Zvorykin, a great Russian scientist, whose name is associated with the birth of television. The Ostankino pond took an active part in the celebration. The events dedicated to the jubilee ended with the opening of a two-meter monument on the shore of the reservoir. A famous scientist stands leaning on a marble television. There is no screen in this unit, instead of it there is a through hole, through which the television tower and Ostankinsky pond are visible. Photos of the joker are framed creatively: they insert their resourceful heads inside and in such a simple way "get on TV".

Place for rest

Walking here a lot: the extensive Ostankino park is a good place for rest with the whole family. Beautiful shady avenues with numerous shops, cafes, restaurants, attractions - everything is within reach. On the territory of the park there is another pond located on the other side of the Sheremetyevsky Palace. It is much more picturesque than the above-described Palace - here, too, you can ride a boat or catamaran, run on the water in an inflatable ball, sit on a bench near the water and feed the ducks. Many believe that this is Ostankinsky pond, but this is not so: this pond is called Garden Garden.

How to get there?

To get to the Palace Pond is very simple - to go still not in the darkness of the Tatarstan, but only 20 km from the Kremlin. Closest of all, perhaps, the metro station VDNH (orange branch). From here you can reach tram number 11 (five stops) and number 17 (four). Exit follows the final, which is called: "Ostankino." In the VDNKh area, the ground-based train (monorail) also stops. If you sit in it and get off at the station "Telecentre" - the pond will also be within walking distance.

You can walk from the metro to the street. Ak. The queen - then to reach the stop "Ostankinsky pond" is not a problem on almost any passing transport. Half way to the window there will be a pond - it stretches along the road 350 meters. The journey will take no more than 5 minutes.

Fans of hiking can also walk: coming to VDNKh, it is necessary to get through the territory of the museum of astronautics to the 1st Ostankino. On the left hand you can almost immediately see the house in which S. Korolev lived (No. 28). Before it from the subway about 200 meters. After that, the Sheremetyevsky manor is a stone's throw away. 1-st Ostankino, 5 - the official address. Ostankino pond is located directly in front of the museum - it faces the facade of the building.

Transport to the pond also runs from the Alekseevskaya metro station: buses 9.37 or minibus 61 will be delivered to the destination in just 10-15 minutes.

Events

Every year on the anniversary of the Great Victory Ostankinsky pond becomes a part of the holiday. Events that regularly take place in the park on May 9, are gathered by a large number of people, they are invited to celebrate the veterans of the Patriotic War. The holiday necessarily involves the holding of a traditional children's regatta. It is very beautiful when the pond water is filled with snow-white sails of small maneuvering yachts.

For 4 years already in October, Moscow has been hosting the "Circle of Light" festival. This is a very interesting and colorful action: designers create real works of art, using the possibilities of light: installations, laser shows, fireworks, etc. Every year, different parts of the city serve as a playground for the creativity of the participants. In 2014, the festival had another address: Ostankino Pond. The view was called "Around the world in less than an hour" and was striking in its scope. On the opening day of the show, thousands of people wanted to see - a crowd crush formed at the VDNKh metro station. For many, the storming of public transport was unsuccessful - good, walking not far. Any 20 minutes, and here it is - Ostankinsky pond. Tribunes specially built for the holiday, received guests on special invitations. With them, it was perfectly visible and the concert, and the show "flying people", and giant projections.

For maximum space saving, the scene on the Ostankino pond was organized right above the water. The television tower, thanks to color monitors, was poured with a luminous rainbow, and the performance was topped by an 8-minute firework that was fired directly from the tower, so it turned into a sparkling rocket that seemed to be about to sink into the sky. The venue for the "Circle of Light 2015" festival is not yet defined, but last year the show was so successful that it is possible that the Ostankino Pond will become the permanent residence of the holiday.
