In the autumn of this year the company Volkswagen announced the beginning of sales of the updated model "Volkswagen Beetle". "Beetle", as it is called in Europe, can rightly be considered an old man in his firm. The car descended from the conveyors from 1998 to 2003, while practically not changing the platform. Unlike the second generation, the "Volkswagen Beetle" 2013 became more sporty and dynamic, losing, however, its rounded and symmetrical shape. He got a new hood, LED illumination of the head optics, while preserving the family features. If before the "Beetle" was more a woman's car than a man's, now the new design has brought it closer to the category of "unisex".

A new hatchback can be safely called rich. But not in terms of value, but in technical equipment. "Beetle" became the owner of a rather wide model line. Already in this respect the creators did not stint. "Volkswagen Beetle", the price for which starts in Russia from 719 thousand rubles, has in its arsenal three gasoline units and two diesel engines. The youngest of the gasoline series is the 105-horsepower TSI engine of 1.2 liters in volume and with a miserable, by modern standards, fuel consumption of 5.9 liters.

The second in the line is a 1.4-liter unit with a potential of 140 "horses". Appetite is also quite moderate - 6.6 liters. The powerful two-liter engine closes the petrol row, bridling two hundred horses.

The diesel versions are represented by 1.6 and 2-liter diesels with a payback of 105 and 140 hp. respectively. To such a rich motor arsenal is offered no less extensive choice of transmissions. The hatchback is equipped with a choice of a manual five- or six-speed box and a six-band "robot" DSG.

According to German marketers, the updated "Volkswagen Beetle" will be an ideal car for everyday trips to work, and for long trips. The main task of the developers was to improve the legendary hatchback in terms of increasing reliability, practicality and comfort. Looking at an elegant little miracle, we can say with certainty that engineers and designers coped with the goal in an "excellent" way.
