The answer is very simple - the incredible charisma of history is given by the heroes. "Supernatural" is built as a kind of "road-story": two brothers travel, along the way, saving the world from all sorts of evil spirits and sticking to dangerous adventures. As events unfold, the plot includes angels, demons and even God himself. However, the short description does not explain why the film turned out so fascinating.

The main characters of "Supernatural"

From the very first series of viewers are introduced to the main characters, their history and, in fact, the plot of the plot. Sam Winchester was still a baby when his mother, pinned to the ceiling by some mysterious force, died right above his crib. Only miraculously his father, John Winchester, entered the room and managed to save the baby - handed it to his eldest son, Dean, and ordered to run to the street. But he could not save his wife.

In the first season, the brothers are practically the only leading characters. "Supernatural" is a series of complex structures, John Winchester appears only towards the end of the first season, and he can be ranked as the main characters of the second season. Similarly, Bobby Singer, a family friend, an elderly connoisseur of all evil spirits, wanders from series to series. We can safely say that there are the main characters of the whole series, and the main characters of the season added to them.

Dean Winchester

Charismatic Jensen Eccles, who played the eldest of the brothers, quickly became the darling of the spectators. Handsome, brave, strong, with a great appetite and a peculiar sense of humor - this guy does not always know what to do in a difficult situation, but always works. Perhaps he is doing stupid things, risking himself excessively, but this is an example of loyalty and devotion to the family.

A special attraction of Dean Winchester's image is that he is not perfect. He is the same as ordinary people: he makes mistakes, commits nonsense, jokes unhappily, sometimes champ with food and from time to time passes to the side of evil. It seems like this should not be done by really good characters. "Supernatural" themes attracts, the characters of this series are not glossy images, they are living and real.

Sam Winchester

If half of the spectators go crazy for Dean Winchester, then the second half gives preference to Sam, the younger brother, played by Jared Padalecki. Ambiguous character, which is also difficult to call positive. It seems that Sam Winchester is some kind of opposite of his brother, and he practically tries to prove this throughout the whole film. Sam is reasonable, balanced and logical, sometimes it even seems that it will help to smooth out all the consequences of the impulsive actions of his elder brother. It is he who verifies everything with logic and universal morality, rebels against his father's orders and condemns Dean, who is accustomed to obey orders, without speculating on their correctness. At the same time, Sam makes much more global mistakes, which put the whole world to the brink of destruction - and so do not act positive heroes.

"Supernatural" perfectly illustrates the well-known wisdom: well-intentioned paved road to hell, and in this case the saying is interpreted literally.

Castiel

The first angel, who came to the aid of the Winchester brothers, took Dean out of hell, literally pulled out, leaving a burn in the form of a finger. Castiel's role was played by Misha Collins, and only in some episodes does the face of the angel illuminate the ordinary human emotions. It looks pretty funny, because Collins is actually an ironic man with a lively sense of humor. Probably, it was difficult for him to save an emotionless expression for so many episodes, but he coped well with the role.

Castiel is a very atypical angel. He doubts, goes against the dogmas to which the other angels are exposed, learns to make decisions and bear responsibility for them. It's difficult, but Castiel often takes the side of the losing side, when the Winchesters are at a disadvantage and confront the whole world, he is trying to help. Castiel has a lot of tests and checks for strength, he also puts the world on the brink of death and tries to fix it. In the series "Supernatural" the characters are constantly faced with the problem of choice: to believe the written rules and their own eyes, or to do the right thing.

Your own or others'?

All the characters of the series can be conditionally divided into positive and negative, they are constantly drifting from one camp to another. For example, Crowley, the king of hell - he must be an antagonist, and he's really bad. The demon king should not be good, but nothing human is alien to him either: he looks at old sentimental films, helps the Winchesters from time to time and just as calmly substitutes them.

One of the most charismatic and unexpected characters is Death, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Calm and stylish old man, adoring fast food and from time to time making adjustments to their own rules.

In the TV series "Supernatural" the names of the characters can be sorted endlessly, and not all of them can be unambiguously classified as antagonists. The exception is, perhaps, the absolute center of evil, for example Abaddon, Demoness Meg, or the angel of Zechariah.

The secret of the popularity of the television series

If even Lucifer looks like a charming character with his own truth, then any viewer can reflect on life. Heroes of the series "Supernatural" are not an unattainable ideal, to which it is useless to strive, on the contrary. They set an example of vitality - if the Winchester brothers are capable of stupidity, then any ordinary person on this side of the screen should not be killed and execute themselves only because they are a little stupid. At least, our actions do not plunge the whole world into another Apocalypse. But you can follow their example, do not give up and refrain from reflexion, but act, correct what was done, not letting things go on its own.

"Supernatural" is not at the same time a moralizing story, it is an exciting excursion into the world of urban legends, folk beliefs and traditions, religious dogmas and universal values. Many viewers sincerely believe that the "Supernatural" made them better and stronger, helped to overcome difficulties. For the series, this is the best praise.
