VAZ 21120 - a bright relative of a large family

In a huge family of cars produced at the Volga Automobile Plant, the VAZ 21120 is one of the brightest and most extraordinary representatives. Firstly, it is a hatchback, which in itself, with a propensity in our country for sedans, is a relatively rare phenomenon. Secondly, of the entire huge family, the VAZ 21120 has the greatest claims to the style and originality of the design.

The release of the model began in 1999, with the production of a shorter version of the five-door hatchback 2112. Some of the structural units and assemblies were borrowed from the popular at the time "tens", the rear seat - at the station wagon of the same generation, thanks to which it was possible to significantly increase the amount of luggage Compartment. The standard equipment of the car includes: electric lifts of glasses, an immobilizer, the central lock, ABS, heating of forward seats, the salon is covered with velor. The car is easy and pleasant to drive - thanks to a good suspension and responsive brakes, it is stable and obedient in maneuvers.

Since 2003, the production of hatchback 21123, the only difference from VAZ 21120, is the body characteristics, namely three doors instead of five. The salon of this car is a luxury. The complete set is on the whole similar to VAZ 21120, except for the mentioned doors, it is difficult to find differences at first glance. Along with this, three doors instead of the usual five gave the hatchback a more aggressive look, and thanks to a modified spoiler and new exterior mirrors, the car became more sporty. The average stance is now almost vertical, which means it will be easier to get into the back seat than in other three-door cars. Durable, lightly weighted doors are fastened on cast hinges, which will later be used in all VAZ models. The new body compared to the VAZ 21120 (technical characteristics also indicate this) has become more rigid, the maneuverability and handling indicators have increased, but the smoothness of the course leaves much to be desired.

The three-door hatchback in standard configuration looks rather poor, it is almost empty. At the request of the customer, however, it can be significantly expanded. The same motor and customary 14-inch wheels are installed on the car as on the VAZ 21120. In the future, it is also planned to install a more powerful engine and complete with special tires 195 / 55R15.

A few words about another project of the VAZ car-model - the 21128 model. This is a more powerful modification, which is equipped with a 1.8-liter injector motor, which is now mounted on a sturdy stretcher, which in turn makes the steering more responsive . Moreover, the modification differs significantly from the basic version from the point of view of both the interior, the exterior, and the mechanical components. Designers also promised to add a concomitant effect - to reduce the arising vibrations of the engine by an order of magnitude. Naturally, this more sporty and powerful version will cost the buyer an order of magnitude more expensive than the basic modification. The cost of this version may vary depending on the level of equipment.
