Treatment of erosion

We somehow got used to the fact that the disease manifests itself in pain. That pain is the signal of a trip to the doctor. But there are diseases that are painless, and that's why they are difficult to diagnose. Erosion is one of them.

Often, the disease is diagnosed by a gynecologist with a direct examination. This does not mean that there are no symptoms at all - minor signs are simply written off to other diseases, or they are not paid attention at all. Meanwhile, periodic bloody discharge, even in small amounts, especially - after intimacy with a loved one, or disruption of pregnancy can just be the cause of erosion, - a small wound on the mucous uterus.

Signs include periodic pulling pain, whitish discharge, malfunctions in the menstrual cycle.

If suspected of a disease, additional tests are prescribed. Most often, a biopsy (almost painless procedure, takes no more than two seconds). Immediately after the results of the tests, erosion treatment can be prescribed. If a biopsy is not enough, a colposcopy is performed (erosion is inspected in magnifying devices), swabs are flushed to the flora, blood tests are performed. The whole list will be indicated by the doctor.

Treatment of erosion can not begin without eliminating the cause of the disease. This can be both the IUD (spiral), and infection, and inflammation that has developed as a result of the introduction of this infection.

The main methods of treatment include: diathermocoagulation, cryotherapy, chemical coagulation, radio wave surgery.

1. Diathermocoagulation (or moxibustion) is based on cauterization of the affected area with a current. The method is most common and is used by all women's counseling. In addition, it is also quite a cheap "pleasure". About how painful this is, it's difficult to say, everyone has their own pain threshold. But you can not call a pleasant procedure. The process takes from 15 to 30 minutes. Each discharge of the current reduces the uterus (as in the birth of labor), in the place where the apparatus touches, heat is felt. After the operation, there are 3-4 weeks of discharge (transparent, or bloody), a loinache, a general weakness is felt. If one cauterization is not enough, one more is prescribed.

Possible complications are miscarriages, infertility, bruises, bleeding. Close relationships can begin only after 6-7 weeks. Nontrozhavshim operations are not carried out.

2. Cryotherapy - treatment of erosion by liquid nitrogen. This method is more sparing, bloodless, does not leave scarring. The effect is only on the site itself with erosion, healthy tissues are not affected. The procedure takes 10-15 minutes and is almost painless. After the operation, the head may become dizzy (from the action of nitrogen). About two weeks, watery discharge is possible , but pain in the lower back and weakness should not be.

The method does not always help with deep erosion. Suitable for nulliparous.

3. The treatment of erosion by radio waves is the most modern and safest method. Its main disadvantage is in expensive equipment, which can not be bought by every clinic. The essence of the procedure is in the impact of the beam on the erosion site, and even the depth of destruction is controlled. Practically painless and non-bleeding method. There is no scarring left. There may be a sutural discharge. Suitable for nulliparous.

4. Chemical coagulation is prescribed for small erosion sizes (not more than a centimeter in diameter) and includes treatment with preparations that have a harmful effect on the cylindrical epithelium. It will take several procedures. Full healing is not guaranteed. The method is painless. Suitable for nulliparous.

Treatment of erosion by folk remedies is undesirable, since self-prescribed lotions and syringings can not only not cure erosion, but also heal it by tightening it from above and provoking the deeper deeper.
