The station "Paveletskaya" is a metro that is unique in its kind

Everyone who has ever visited Moscow knows that Paveletskaya station is a unique metro station. First of all, this uniqueness, of course, can be traced in the architecture and nuances of construction, but at the same time, one should not forget about history.

General description of the object

The station "Paveletskaya" is a metro that performs the role of an excellent transport interchange for a modern metropolis. Located between Avtozavodskaya and Novokuznetsk, it daily receives a huge stream of ever-hurrying Muscovites and visitors to the capital.

In principle, the name of each metro station is customarily considered separately. In this case, everything is extremely simple. Art. Metro "Paveletskaya" got its name in honor of the capital of the Russian Federation located on the surface of the same railway station. In general, if you go further into history, you can find out that the Paveletsky Railway Station was named in the severe post-war years in the modest village of Pavelets, located in the Ryazan region.

To date, the Paveletskaya station is a metro, which in fact can be considered a masterpiece of architecture. Both the walls and the columns are decorated with snow-white marble. Pylons, though made of the same material, have a pronounced light pink shade. The floor is finished with gray granite. Lamps, mounted in the caissons of the vaults, brightly illuminate the main hall of the station.

Art decoration tells visitors about the facts of the history of the armed forces of the former USSR. In the central room, among other things, you can also admire the bronze medallions of the sculptor Efimov and the original stucco ornament.

Station "Paveletskaya" - metro with its history

During the opening of this transport hub, the city experienced difficult times. In 1943, Moscow suffered horrors of wartime, along with the whole country. The Paveletskaya metro was put into operation on November 20.

The station was opened on the already operating stretch between "Sverdlov Square" and "Zavod im. Stalin, "ie, using modern names, we note that this happened on the site" Teatralnaya "-" Avtozavodskaya ".

After the war, of course, the station had to be reconstructed. However, the architects made a very wise decision to adhere to the original project. As a result, "Paveletskaya", although turned into a column, but outwardly changed slightly.

But in 1953 the construction work did not end. Again, and again forced, they had to start in the spring of 1987. The reason for this was the fire that broke out in the cabin of the train station. The finishing of the southern end of the underground room was almost completely destroyed.

Typical features of the station

First of all, we note that the depth of the station is quite impressive - 33.5 meters. This is what makes this structure one of the deepest in the capital. But that's not all. Few people know that the "Paveletskaya" was once built on an individual project, therefore it has no analogues in Moscow in its structure.

Now the station can boast the presence of two lobbies at once: the northern one, equipped with a modern escalator, and the southern one, located inside the Paveletsky railway station. Surroundings on the surface clearly indicate that among its permanent visitors will be both local residents and tourists. The Theater Museum, Funeral Passage, college, academy, many schools, food shops and several hotels make Paveletskaya one of the most popular in Moscow.

And, finally, it should be noted that the tunnel connecting the Ring and Zamoskvoretskaya lines is the longest inter-station crossing of the Moscow metro.
