The sky aches: is it worth worrying?

The sky is the upper part of the oral cavity, flowing smoothly into the larynx. It consists of the front and back parts, covered with a mucous membrane.

If the sky hurts, perhaps several explanations of this condition. Typically, the causes of pain can be both internal functional disorders, and infectious diseases located near the tissues and nerves.

When the sky has inflamed, one of the most common causes of this is mechanical damage (a cut, a scratch). This kind of wound can be obtained during chewing. And for this, the food does not need to be with bones or sharp corners: all solid food easily traumatizes the mucous of the palate. Why does the sky hurt if there are no problems with teeth and food? Like the tissues that surround the tooth, the sky can respond with a pain to a sharp change of hot and cold, and pain can also occur directly during chewing.

As for the organs that are in close proximity, the possible factors that cause the sky to ache can be inflammation of the tonsils, processes of the soft palate, and also tonsillitis of any degree of complexity. At the heart of the structure of the tonsils lies lymphoid tissue (tuberous epithelium with multiple depressions). If pathogenic microorganisms settle directly in the depressions, it causes extensive inflammation in the tonsils, as well as concomitant reddening of the tissues, pains in the soft palate and throat, and, often, a rise in temperature.

Possible causes of pain in the sky can be inflammation of various types of nerves that pass directly through it. It is these inflammatory processes that cause various kinds of pain. When there is a violation of the temporomandibular joint, the pain extends not only to the sky, but also occurs in the jaw and in the temporal region in parallel. Such symptomatology is an unambiguous sign to the diagnosis of this disease.

If you have any kind of inflammatory processes in the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, prepare for the fact that they can cause painful sensations, including in the sky. One of these diseases is stomatitis - the most common disease of the mucous membrane. One of the factors provoking the onset of this disease is a viral infection caused by an inadequate level of body protection (herpes). On the mucosa as a result of small ulcers appear whitish shade. When it hurts the sky, as well as the entire oral cavity - this is the main sign of stomatitis.

As a rule, pain in the sky is a sign of any disease of nerve endings (inflammatory processes in them), inflammation of the stomatological nature and infectious processes directly in the sky.
