The plot, description, roles and actors "Think Like a Culprit"

Every day we communicate with a lot of people and, watching their behavior, sometimes want to find out what is going on in someone else's head. Most likely, the Russian special services have a special unit, which studies this issue on a professional level. However, no detailed information on this is available.

Satisfy your curiosity, you can with the help of Western series, based on the investigation of the most brutal and sophisticated crimes. The rating of spectator sympathies advises to pay attention to the criminal detective "Think as a criminal". Actors and roles, the plot and the process of filming - for detailed information about this, see our review.

Who are profilers?

Writers and actors "Think as a criminal" introduce spectators to profilers. This is a special department of the FBI, in which employees are engaged in studying behavior and drawing up psychological portraits of criminals. The profiler team does not deal with the thorough study of evidence, they work at the crime scene, try to be in the shoes of a mentally abnormal person and anticipate his next action.

Each episode of the series is incredibly realistic. Serial killers, pedophiles and perverts, juvenile criminals - embodying them on the screen, talented actors "Think as a criminal" keep spectators in suspense until the very end and leave a heavy residue on the soul. Perhaps this is due to the realization that the scenario of the detective is very close to the usual criminal chronicle.

Observing good ratings, CBS Corporation agreed to produce spin-off "Think as a criminal: the behavior of a suspect" (actors Forest Whitaker, Kirsten Wangsness, Janine Garofalo and others). However, the series lasted only one season (13 episodes) and was closed, the original version, on the contrary, was promised to be extended for the eleventh season.

Jason Gideon

Founder of the division of behavioral analysis. Gideon does not lead a team of profilers, but is their informal leader. As a true mentor, he prefers to give barely perceptible clues so that the students themselves find a way out.

Jason Gideon differs violent fantasy, which more than once helped him to think like a criminal. A favorite method in dealing with detainees is provocation. Despite the vast experience in uncovering the most serious crimes, the talented profiler of failure perceives too close to the heart, is prone to depression and nervous breakdowns.

Mandy Patinkin

The role of the informal leader was performed by the winner of Emmy and Tony awards, the three-time nominee for the Golden Globe - American actor and singer Mandel Bruce Patinkin.

After the second season, the actors of the series "Think Like a Culprit" regretted the news of the departure of a colleague. However, participation in the project gave a new impetus to the career of Patinkin - he replaced the FBI with the CIA. In 2011, Mandel Bruce began acting in the multi-part film Rodina in the role of an experienced CIA officer.

Hotch

When Gideon moved away from the management of the profiler division, his place was taken by Aaron Hotchner, or simply Hotch. Work and execution of orders are always for him in the first place. Unlike his mentor Hotch unperturbed and perfectly keeps emotions under control.

Strict nature and dedication do not prevent him from monitoring the morale of his colleagues. Aaron Hotchner worries about others, but at the same time does not spare himself and works on wear and tear - this approach to a great extent harms personal life. The wife of the protagonist can not stand it and leaves with their common son.

Thomas Gibson

The actors "Think as a criminal" by the time the filming began, have already achieved some success in the profession. Career Thomas Gibson (Hotch) began quite early - a nine-year-old boy with pleasure performed in a children's theater. However, the real popularity came to Gibson along with the role of Dr. Neiland in the drama Chicago Hope (1994-1998).

The next important step for the actor was the project "Darma and Greg" and the nomination for the "Golden Globe". Since 2005, Thomas Gibson analyzes the behavior of maniacs and serial killers in the detective "Think Like a Culprit."

Derek Morgan

Single-lone rebel Derek Morgan is another member of the profiler team. He is confident in himself, quick-tempered and does not recognize authorities, which is why he often has a quarrel with Aaron Hotchner.

Service in the Marine Corps, the Chicago Police and the Sapper Division, the black belt in judo and hand-to-hand combat skills - you can continue the list of Morgan talents endlessly. The potential of Derek is really great, but he does not see himself as a leader.

Shemard Moore

Many viewers have their favorites after watching "Think Like a Culprit" (season 1). Actors and their screen characters came together as "two halves," and some found even common features. For example, according to the plot, Derek Morgan is incredibly loving, and Shemar Moore did not even have to play anything.

True popularity of Moore was brought by the soap opera "Young and Daring", in which he was shot more than ten years. In parallel, the black handsome man led the musical program Soul Train.

It is interesting that after participating in the project "Young and Daring" Shemar did not intend to sign such long-term contracts. We do not know how Moore's producers "Think Like a Culprit" were persuaded, but for ten seasons the audience has been watching Derek Morgan's work with pleasure.

Spencer Reed

Dr. Reed - that's exactly how another profiler is introduced to the stranger to add some solidity to him. Indeed, a young person is not always taken seriously, but in vain. Spencer Reed, in his twenty-seven years, has three doctorates: engineering, physics and mathematics. Absolute memory allows him to store in his head a huge amount of information, incredible reading speed and IQ 187 - this scares even a little of Reed's colleagues, but they gradually get used to oddities.

Like other geniuses, Spencer Reed is hard socializing. In addition, his mother is in a psychiatric hospital, and the doctor is afraid of awakening schizophrenia in himself. It is for this reason that a young man from childhood is fond of exact sciences, and not creativity, which can become a catalyst for the disease.

The actors "Think Like a Culprit" admit that the harmless Spencer has suffered the greatest number of misfortunes. Reed's doctors were heavily beaten, abducted, infected with anthrax and placed on drugs.

Prior to participating in the CBS channel project, Matthew Gray Goebler (Spencer Reed) tried his hand at design, sometimes acting in films and working as a model at the shows of Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Marc Jacobs.

Penélope García

It would be wrong to say that the Hotch team was coping on its own. To develop the plot, the writers came up with new characters, "Think Like a Culprit" (season 2). Actors took in their family Kirsten Wangsness, who played the role of Penelope Garcia.

"Queen of Information Technology" - this is the title worthy of this charming young lady. Incredibly talented hacker and analyst - without the help of Penelope, the team of profilers would not work so effectively. Despite all the horrors with which we have to face, the girl remains optimistic and makes us smile even the harsh Hotch.

Garcia also has a special relationship with the rebel Derek Morgan. Comic flirting, however, for all seasons and has not escalated into serious feelings. It is the coquetry and emotionality of Penelope that dilute the heavy routine of profilers.

With personal life, computer genius is also not all smooth. A novel with an FBI agent from another unit promised good prospects, but it turns out that Garcia does not want to marry.
