In Russia, the Abyssinian breed of cats became known about ten years ago. True, at that time it did not arouse the interest of specialists. It appeared only about three years ago. It is likely that the lack of attention to these charming cats is explained by the too "cold" (blue and beige) color of the first specimens brought to our country.

Perhaps someone was embarrassed by the appearance of the Abyssinian. It seems that this wild beauty has the same wild temper. But this is a delusion. At the present time, the import of these animals begins to revive, and, accordingly, the demand for them is growing.

The Abyssinian breed of cats arrived in Europe in 1868, when a military expedition brought her from Ethiopia to the UK. With her, the selection work began.

In the eighties of the last century it was registered as an "Abyssinian cat". The breed standards were approved at the same time. To date, there are eight species, depending on the color.
