The Kremlin Palace of Congresses. Excursion to the history

The State Kremlin Palace is the most prestigious and the best in Moscow. It was named so in 1992, earlier the building was called the "Kremlin Palace of Congresses". Its address is brief: Moscow, the Kremlin.

Brief characteristics

There is a Palace on the territory belonging to the residence of the President of Russia. The hall of the Kremlin Palace is one of the best in the world. Its capacity is six thousand people. Huge dimensions do not suppress, but create a feeling of comfort and balance. The stage area is 450 square meters, it is equipped with all necessary equipment. In addition to the main one there is a Small Hall in the Palace, otherwise it is called the Reception Hall. Most often there are chamber concerts, performances of jazz and classical music performers.

The Kremlin Palace of Congresses has its own restaurant, which can host at a banquet from six hundred to a thousand people, and the buffet can accommodate up to two thousand guests.

A bit of history

The idea of building the building belonged to Khrushchev - the main secretary of the Central Committee. It was decided that the Kremlin Palace of Congress should be erected to the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party, which was scheduled for autumn 1961. Before that, the Communists gathered at the Bolshoi Theater or in the old Kremlin Palace. Nikita Sergeyevich for the high events agreed only to the Kremlin, no other place was comfortable with him. It was decided to build a chic Palace, which would be designed specifically for important, crowded events. The place chosen for this is the old Armory Chamber in Empire style, built in the beginning of the XIX century by Yegotov. Prior to this, on this place stood the construction of the court of Tsar Boris Godunov. Near the old Armory Chamber was a whole chain of ancient Russian guns, headed by the Tsar Cannon. All of them were moved towards the Arsenal to French trophy guns.

Building

Before starting the construction of the site, archaeological excavations were made here , which allowed the story of Moscow to be replenished.

The best architects took part in creating the building project: Schepetnikov, Posokhin, Stamo, Mndoyants, Steller. And also engineers: Kondratiev, Shkolnikov, Lviv, Melik-Arakelyan.

Initially, the hall of the Kremlin Palace of Congresses was designed for four thousand seats. In the project, it was divided into three fronts (facade, foyer, meeting room), each involved a certain group of architects. Subsequently, many for this project received the Lenin Prize.

Under the influence of Chinese colleagues who in Beijing rebuilt the Palace of Congresses for ten thousand seats, it was decided to expand the building. It was planned to create a hall with a capacity of six thousand people. At the same time, a banquet hall for 2500 people was designed. The scheme of the Kremlin Palace of Congresses indicates that the newly increased volume was "hidden" underground, to a depth of fifteen meters. There were additional floors, where the spectator's wardrobes were placed.

Opening of the Palace

Construction continued only sixteen months. For such a short time had to fulfill the task. During the construction, the old officer barracks of the times of Nicholas I were destroyed, and a whole brigade operated. The grandiose construction required strict discipline and great responsibility. Even for a small oversight, it was possible to part with a membership card and even freedom. The Kremlin Palace of Congresses was built on state money, it did not spare money for it.

The discovery took place in October 1961. The luxurious party palace struck everyone with its luxury and grandeur. The facade was decorated with white Ural marble and golden anodized aluminum. The main entrance was crowned with the coat of arms of the USSR, gilded. Later in the course of history it was replaced with the Russian coat of arms.

For interior decoration we used carbakhtin red granite, Baku patterned tuff, marble kölga, the most diverse expensive wood species.

One of the difficult constructive tasks was that the new building had to fit properly into the face of the Kremlin. It was decided that the Kremlin Palace of Congresses should be coordinated with the Arsenal building. To do this, they deepened the Palace 15 meters into the ground, which made it possible to distribute more than eight hundred rooms in the building.
