The island of Java: exotic first-hand!

If even three or four decades ago a trip to the Crimea, the Black Sea or the Carpathians was perceived as something special, joyful, but now nobody is surprised by local beauties. The boundaries of tourist geography have expanded almost to the borders of the globe. Various companies offer us to join surfing in Hawaii and in the waves of California, participate in a safari in the African savannah, meet the New Year in Malibu. And still the soul of a Russian man craves exotics! Her quest for many adventurers was brought to the island of Java.

A familiar stranger

Once the island of Java (Indonesia) was familiar to us only from the textbooks of geography and programs of the "Club of Travelers", which led Senkevich. Plus tobacco "Golden Java". Since then, much has changed. And before the Russian tourists, the island of Java appeared in all its exotic beauty.

With Java often refers to the word "most". The island is part of the Indonesian archipelago, the largest in the world. Of all the island it is the most inhabited. And it is most of its territory in comparison with the whole archipelago is occupied by dense, impassable and practically unexplored jungle. 30% of the land is covered with a virgin forest - this is not an old Europe for you!

In addition, that the island of Java - the territory of the jungle, it is also the territory of volcanoes. Neither much nor little, but 120 pieces of them are located on the island. Of these, 17 are operational, because the island shakes from time to time, and quite strongly, and out of the vents bursts of smoke. The spectacle is impressive, especially when you consider that the chain of active volcanoes is recognized as the most active in the world.

Due to a number of circumstances, the island of Java pulled the blanket of popularity to its side, leaving far behind neighbors - Sumatra, Bali, Kalimantan and others. And this is understandable. After all, the most interesting, valuable in terms of "what to see, what to know, what to admire" is already collected here in Java! And the Indian Ocean, which is washing the southern part of the island, accentuates this.

Exotic series

  • Java is an island with a relief of two types: mountainous and flat, which is unusual for a small part of the land area. But lovers of mountain ranges can get a lot of fun and thrills, because the height of some of them is equal to three hundred meters! However, those who preferred the opposite part of the island - the northern, flat, in the loser will not remain - and there are their miracles.
  • The climate here is unique in its own way, as well as the fertility of soils. In other areas, the inhabitants in their fields manage to harvest three crops per year! And this is with the rainy season, which lasts three or four months! Although it is then warm, not below +23. The rest of the year is sunny and hot. True, and the humidity is decent - up to 95%. However, according to tourists, the heat is transferred quite easily: at least, you get used to it quickly.
  • And the soil here is really legendary fertile. The main crop is rice. Java produces so much rice that many local rich people have managed to earn the most solid wealth! And if you hear the expression: "put a dry stick into the ground, and it will sprout", know: this is said of the earth in Java!
  • The culture, worldview, life of local residents left imprint three major religions of the world: Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Each of them at one time was on the main island. Now, by and large, Islam predominates, but many of Java's attractions are temples, monasteries, statues, monuments, etc. - store features and signs of past beliefs. As well as myths, legends, local magic and other kinds of folklore. This island is extremely interesting for a huge number of tourists and travelers from all over the world.
  • Even more interesting are the contrasts of the island. Still would! Super modern megalopolises with skyscrapers adjoin here with the pastoral scenery of a leisurely peasant life and pristine jungle. A blatant poverty - with puffy luxury. However, the latter we are perfectly familiar with native penates.

Let's go through the sights

The island is divided into three administrative units - the province. Each of them has its own sights. Once in the western province, tourists should first of all visit the city of Cirebon - an ancient royal residence. In addition, lovers of sunbathing and swim most reason to look in Pandaran - the local beach is one of the best beaches of the island. And the Jung Coulomb National Park is famous all over the world. And the remains of the famous Krakatoa impress the imagination with its formidable majesty.

In the center of the island the main Javanese city is Jogyakarta. It is called the cultural-historical heart of Java. They produce a famous handmade batik. Many traditional crafts are still alive, and in local benches you can buy wonderful souvenirs made of silver. A unique ancient temples, the memory of the Hindu and Buddhist religions - Prambanan and Borobudur - are visited annually by crowds of pilgrims and tourists. Yes, and the Sultan's palace can be attributed to the wonders of the world. The whole world is famous for the Shadow Theater of Vyang Purvo, noted by UNESCO.

The eastern province of Java is, first of all, the city of Malang. Nearby is another National Park of Indonesia - Semeru, in which the special attention of tourists can attract the volcano Bromo. And Malang himself, once a resting place for the Dutch colonialists, is known for his huge coffee plantations. You can also visit the world's largest Botanical Garden.

The southern part of the island is Pagandaran. These are tens of kilometers of natural beaches, where there is an opportunity to take your soul away.

Java - the island of volcanoes

Having visited Java, you can not help but "visit" the active volcanoes. You can see the hot lava, hear the terrible roar of the earth's interior, observe the clouds of smoke and sulfur. Than not the entourage from the film-catastrophe!

In conclusion, I would like to add: there are so many unique places on our blue planet that there probably is not enough human life to go everywhere and get acquainted with everything.
